What a fabulous idea! I am certainly going to go watch that if I possibly can! Will be great to see what all those creative minds come up with out there.

Can I just point out that Friday is actually the 29th, not the 30th. That will obviously be on Saturday.
So best you confirm which day it is.
Only reason I know this is because the 29th is my cake day.
And because its my cake day I won't be able to make anything in game on Friday or Saturday.
One more thing......this is essentially Pro Wrestling within CoX right?

An excellent idea. Although I have no skill what so ever with this sort of thing, I have now made up a character on V so I can watch.
Hopefully there will be some good videos from this event as it sounds as though it could be really good.
Very brave of you trusting to an online translator, by the way. I lurk in the French forums and the one time Ive got up the nerve to post in there I resorted to English.
I do hope they record those fights. I would love to see em.

Sorry to hear that mate it sounded like a wonderful and innovative idea. Perhaps you should do a little choerograpthy yourself and just post it for us all to enjoy if thats what you are into! A pumping sound track and some 'intresting' moves would make a great little vid IMHO
That is a shame, I had even put this in my diary and made up a character so I could come and watch.
Do let us know if this is happening again, even if it is only a couple of teams I would watch and applauded.

I present you an event which is coming on french server named "Vigilance". I hope it will be of interest to you. Sorry for the bad traduction from the google translator but my english is so bad that i prefered this way of meaning ^_^
-> This is a new idea for an event being entitled "Action Opera" which I have chosen to set up with the cooperation of the invaluable Palladium, french community coordinator and Jyru-Ken, the manager of "Arena-CoX" on Vigilance server. I did not know exactly if I had to post this program in the "PvP and Arena" or "Roleplaying" section, thus the part "General Discussions" seemed the best fit. I will let you read the rules below to familiarize yourselves with the nature of this Event, essentially centered around PvP/RP.

[u]Presentation of the event:[u]
On August 30th, 2008, at 09:00 pm, under the sky of Paragon City and the archipelago of the Rogue Islands, we shall have the pleasure to present you the first edition of the entitled event "Action Opera". This event aims at collecting during a competition of exhibition as much the amateurs of Player versus Player (PvP) as of Roleplay (RP). During this competition various teams from 2 to 4 members maximum will have to choreograph, in theater style, a fight setting several players. The purpose is not the victory but the way to choreograph a fight. This event will appeal to all your spirit of creative fighter and offers to the spectators a demonstration of your actors' talents while offering them a visual exhibition from which you will be the star.
[u]The Purpose :[u] Realize the most beautiful choreography of fight by using all the tools in your capacities (macro, binds, emotes, powers, inspirations, dress up etc.). The only limit is your imagination. Be creative !
[u]Rules:[u]
- A team from 2 to 4 players maximum who can oppose of several manners: 2 against 2, 1 against 3, 1 against 1 or another 1 against 2 or free style.
- The fighters of both factions are authorized to allow some confrontations between heroes and naughty boys/girls during the event.
- The participants can choose to appear under the same label of SG. But they can also come from different horizons. All which counts is their efficiency to prepare something together.
- The fight will take place only over a period of 5 minutes minimum and 10 minutes maximum.
- The competition will take place in the arena to allow every level to be able to participate in the event.
- The judges who will determine the performances of the teams will enter the arena as "spectators" not to disrupt the progress of the action.
- No archetype is excluded from the competition. Which could allow, according to your scenario, to see winning a defender empathy/psionic attack against two brutes for example.
- All the temporary powers and the inspirations are allowed.
- The registrations in the event will come to end on Thursday, August 28th, 2008 at 11:59 pm. Your registration e-mail to the organizers being proof.
- It is not possible to be a judge and a competitor during the event.
[u]Conditions of victory and winners :[u]
- 3 teams will be declared as being winners of this championship.
- They will be selected according to 3 criteria :
<ul type="square">[*] Technical qualities and implementation of their choreography.[*] Originality.[*] And, a thrid criteria gathering all which are drama, humor etc.[/list]
[u]Rewards :[u]
- 1st Place : A month of free game time (Game Time Card) and a customized title on the official boards.
- 2nd Place : 15 days of free game time and a customized title on the official boards.
- 3rd Place : A customized title on the official boards.
[u]The Judges :[u]
- 4 judges from Vigilance server will compose the "jury". They were chosen in relation with their knowledge and their experience in both PVP and RP. Their names will be announced to you soon here by updating of this post.
[u]Recommendations :[u]
- Start making your teams now (2 - 4 team members maximum).
- It is recommended to use the different forms of macro coupled with the activation of powers to make your battle vibrant and to give a theatrical dimension to your battle. Please think beforehand about preparing your macro and establishing the different stages of your battle and creating a stage without idle times.
- Take care of training and of planning all stages of your choreography.
- What Happens if there are bugs during your exhibition ? The Jury will take in consideration all sort of issues in your choregraphy (bad power activation, lags, etc.). If your scenario is taking place in the air, and we launch a cave map, we will reset the arena. Just warn the jury before your turn.
