Character Type
Um... this makes NO sense at all...
A humanoide is weak to Psi and Toic cause it has an organic body and mind... a Robot is strong to psi and toxic because it's not organic...
I like the idea, but you need to improve it a great deal

Sounds: Fine, if it can be done.
Buffs: No, no, and NO! Just choose powersets/powers that fit, or failing that, just keep suggesting new ones. Besides, what if you want to choose Robotic just for a human with a digitally distorted voice?
Sam: "My mind is a swirling miasma of scintillating thoughts and turgid ideas."
Max: "Me too."
Stuff

Also, a permentent type buff should at some rate be a Double-Edged Sword...
Humanoid Buff: Res to um... well, we humans aint really resistant to anything, so no buff or debuff ^^
Robotic Buff: Strong to Toxic and Psi
Robotic Debuff: Weak to Energy and Elec
Wooden Buff: Strong to Smashing, Slashing and Energy
Wooden Debuff: Weak to Fire, Ice and Toxic
Armored Buff: Strong to all except Psi, Energy and Elec
Armored Debuff: Weak to Energy and Elec
Heavy Buff: Strong to all except Psi.
Heavy Debuff: Slower movement speed.
Stealth Buff: Def to AoE, Confuse and Placate, Res to Psi.
Stealth Debuff: Weak to Everything except Psi
But seriously, even this aint good... at some rate im not really a fan of the suggestion

No, no buffs or debuffs, just the different animations.
Won't happen, because it's a roleplay suggestion.

Okay, I just added the types with buffs as something extra, if its not turning out good I'm fine with just changing the sounds of your character.
Basically if you choose robotic, you will have the same running sound as a battle drone, same falling sound as the battle drone, have a new computerised voice and when you are defeated you make the same sound clockwork do.
The other suggested types will have the same with thier own sounds, no animations will be changed at all. So basically now its just changing the sounds you make in action, nothing much

Okay, how about the following, Three little tabs at the bottom of the character creator screen listing the bellow:
Travel Sound
Normal
Robotic
Heavy
Claws
light
Voice
Normal
Robotic
Heavy
Reptilian
Wolf
Quiet
Fall
Normal
Robotic
Heavy
Light
Wooden
This would make it easier to choose what sounds your character makes and mix the ones that suit your character, I hope this helps now.

This would actually be rather nice.
But perhaps put the travel and fall sound in one category since it could sound a bit weird with robotic/wooden combo.

It was suggested a while ago (like Year 1), and I think it may even have been in the original game design, that for example, if you took fire powers, you would be more susceptible to cold. You idea is vaguely similar.
The reason given for not doing this was that it required you to make a choice without knowing anything about the game which would affect how easily you could play the game. For example: you meet a lot of Hellions early on, with fire powers. If you took cold powers and thus got beaten to a pile of cinders every time you entered a mission door, you might well decide the game sucked and quit.
So, no buffs and debuffs based on phenotype or power selection.
(It's not actually a very good argument, but it is a perfectly reasonable one.)

Ah, by fall i mean, die, so if your a wooden robot (like futurama's bender once was) then you can have it that way with anything you want

OK, I'm liking the new version. /signed as long as it's not gonna be a similar degree of work to pow cust.
just a small suggestion, could we have an option to change our characters Species? you know, each species has a different voice and sounds different when they run/jump/fall/die? each Species has some inherent resistances, I just have a few examples here:

Humanoid (standard) [resist psi and toxic by 10% each]
Robotic (basically like battle drones, computerised voice) [res energy, smashing, lethal, toxic and psi by 5% each]
Wooden (basically like totems, creaking voice)[res smashing, lethal, cold, psi and neg energy by 5% each]
Armoured (New, slight metalic sounds over standard, standard voice) [Res smashing and lethal by 10% each]
Heavy (Heavy) [Res Smashing and hold by 10% each]
Stealthy (New, quiet Standard with softer sounds, whisper in voice) [res AoE and confuse by 10% each]
These options will be accessable via a new column in the character creator. If you can think of more please offer them up, these are the only ones I know or can think of
Thaughts, Comments and Questions are welcomed and appreciated
(note: by voice I mean that grunting sound when you jump, taunt or get hit)
