Cheers Stalker, kinda thought it was a nice idea, why not give it a go, hope it takes off could be fun. Of course spectators are more than welcome and can always have a little flutter if they like. Perhaps one day even champs like yourself will enter, well here's hoping 
And Charnel yes I was going to try and restrict it to one entry per player to avoid match conflicts though if there is little response and those interested are amiable then perhaps some work around could be agreed upon.

I think you have to resign yourself to the fact that in duels if u meet the wrong powerset with a good player u may well have little chance to win.
But then again there is nothing more satisfying than either defeating or making a good show of yourself against your personal rock,paper or scissor.
All good fun either way imo.

Also as only about half a dozen have shown any interest I'll probably just wave entrance fees and pay prizes out of my own pocket. Shame really was kinda hoping I could get a bit of a regular thing going, have a bit of a buzz, a well I'm sure some other scheme or plan will pop up in my somewhat over active imagination soon. 
Sorry it doesn't look like this is going to happen unless there is a couple more people who are interested. I've really done my best to drum up interest, other than spamming everyones PM box who is listed on the Union PVP list but then if they are into PvP they've probably already read this thread and decided not to participate, and I think cold calling people is maybe a little rude.
Perhaps the idea I'm 'profiteering' has put people off but to be honest I had hoped to run this as a regular possibly monthly thing, expanding the idea to include highlight reels, rankings tables etc. now this would have taken me some time and effort and I didn't think anyone would really mind dropping me a couple of inf for all the organisation involved. Perhaps I was wrong.
Anway it's not without some regret that I must say that unless there is some change in the state of play then this event is unfortunatly provisionly cancelled.
Anyone who reckons they can stop this idea going down like a lead balloon is welcome to any profit I make Saturday thats if I can still face running it cos frankly at the moment I'm a bit bummed out by it all and really just feel like shrugging my shoulders and walking away from this but I might well feel diffrent later.
Oh and I sincerly apoligise for any inconvience caused and If I've put you out in any way ie. you were offered a TF slot and refused it in favour of atttending and the slot is now closed or any other reason you can come up with I'm willing to pay you a mill in compo for wasting your time etc. please PM me on the boards rather than Global me ingame so I can easily verify your claim.

Again a big cheers to those who were good enough to show some interest in my mad schemes. I think that probably I should have waited until maybe I knew a few more people in the PvP community because being a total PvP n00b I don't even know enough people to run this kind of event without the support of strangers. But thanks again for your interest and I hope maybe some time in the future when maybe I'll have enough contacts to actually arrange that [censored] up in a brewery. By the way at an estimate does anyone know what the sie of the regular PvP community on Union is?

The Extreme Dojo's Open Kumate
To be held at Pocket D on Union on August the 2nd 2008 at 7pm
A Superheavyweight (lvl 50) 1 on 1 knockout competion
Bouts will be no holds barred ( no restrictions, insps allowed )
All fights will be 1 10 minute round ( The house reserves the right to convert any stage in the competion to last man standing due to time constraints)
Entry fee 1 Million Influence payable on the night
The prize fund will be split between the top 4 rankers at a ratio of 4:3:2:1
A book will also be run on each fight you name a fighter and a price if you win your stake will be returned plus a share of the remaining pot upto twice your original stake..
The house reserves the right to a 10% cut of any monies handled on the night except where it would affect the return of someones full stake.
Unfortunatly the Dojo can only deal in Influence ( unless I can arange or someone would like to voulenteer Influnce/Infamy exchange services, for which I would pay an equal share of my cut on any transaction, my other option is to accept only influence for entry fees and also pay winners with such and run two seperate books with seperate prize pools for each event ) and I am still trying to arrange the use of a TS server for the night ( rules of course would apply ).

or post any comments, question or especially advice from people who have also run this sort of event
