Real model exports
I just want a plush Greater Devoured, cutest monster in the game IMO.
But yeah some form of export for 3D modelling hell even if it was a propriatry format and NCSoft made the models would be fine for me.

OH. MY. GODS. This. With bells on. Sod the T-shirts... this is what the fans want... or at least me and Ninj.

Yeah, it would probably be awesome... but it's never going to happen, is it?
About the best I could imagine you getting is a model viewer like the one WoW has, and even then I doubt it considering that they had to deny us access to the offline character creator due to that wonderful Marvel lawsuit resolution.

heh, one problem, the models are pretty square and the machine is without color.
this is sorta the effect you get:

not something you want on your desk....
These guys do printers that run not only in colour, but quite large sizes:

In fact in one example they took the results of an MRI scan and built a copy of someone's skull. Just imagine having a copy of your own skull on your desk, and being able to say "Yep, that's my skull there." or even get a copy of your own brain.

I've seen the results of some tests that a guy who posts on another forum I read did when he was looking for an investment. He was looking at making WoW figurines and while its true the machine only produce a single colour object its not outside the bounds of possibility to paint them or even have them painted in a separate process.
Some of the WoW miniatures I have seen made with this sort of system are amazing in detail and look. And while the character detail in WoW and CoH are different there is no technical reason that the 3d data in CoH couldn't be turned into solids... as mentioned it will be for copyright issues that it won't happen.
There have been massive complaints about those WoW figurines being poorly finished, unfortunately.
Shame, I could massively go for some of my characters as a figurine. I already have the 'artistic rendering' for some of them.
Copyright wise, if NCSoft licensed the operation for a company to produce figurines like that, I could see it happening. The production numbers are quite small (like, very small), so they could probably be vetted without too much effort to ensure no copyright violations. And, obviously, NCSoft could send the appropriate model data out.
It's making that kind of facility publicly available that I don't think is possible under the rules of the settlement with Marvel.

You need to talk to Blindfaith, CoX's very own plushie-maker extrordinaire.

There's bushbaby. She made the cutest Shivans, and an amazing FG doll (as well as a beautiful necklace ).
It would be nice for us to purchase our character's as figurines as part of the CoX merchandise.
Who knows maybe NCSoft would do this once the 'City Vault' is up.
Mind you you would have to confirm which character and costume you wanted a solid model of and in which pose/power pose/emote.

Ahh thats right, thanks Stasiseque , - I remember now why I got them confused, The post in question was Blindfaith posting on behalf of Bushbaby showcasing her latest plushie.
This is a pie-in-the-sky suggestion. I'd love to be able to export my COX characters to an external model format like 3DS or blender to play with in other imaging software. But what would be really cool, would be the ability to export to a format recognised by the new 3D printing shops that have started to appear like this one:
http://www.shapeways.com/betasuccess
To have your characters sitting there on your shelf would be very, very cool. I know there's a company doing WoW models, but can we have one for COX too?
