Grasphics card PhsyX
By my understanding the PhysX option in CoH is for the Ageia PhysX accelerator card. Do you have one or is it built into the 9800 GTX? (My tech knowledge skills aren't up there, I'm afraid, so I simply don't know.)
If the capabilities of the Ageia card are NOT built into the 9800 card, then CoH won't allow you to enable the option.
The wisdom of Shadowe: Ghostraptor: The Shadowe is wise ...; FFM: Shadowe is no longer wise. ; Techbot_Alpha: Also, what Shadowe said. It seems he is still somewhat wise ; Bull Throttle: Shadowe was unwise in this instance...; Rock_Powerfist: in this instance Shadowe is wise.; Techbot_Alpha: Shadowe is very wise *nods*; Zortel: *Quotable line about Shadowe being wise goes here.*

Nvidia announced awhile back that they would be introducing PhysX support in all the 8+ series cards. The support for CoX may come in a patch I dont know but Id say wait till the driver is out of Beta before actually wondering why its not working.
Done some research for ya...
And you will need the Nvidia PhysX Driver as well as the Nvidia 177.39 Beta Graphics Driver.
However it seems that the PhysX Driver is currently only for Windows Vista and the 9800 Nvidia series GPU's.
And in the PhysX CP you would need to set GeForce instead of AGEIA - Info here.
No the PhysX driver is part of the 177.39 drivers
And yes it's set to GeForce.
I have it working, just not in CoH
I'm prepaired to wait for a patch/non-beta drivers, I was more wondering if this will ever happen? if anyone knows of someone who had got it working in coh or if the dev's had said anything about it.
I've had a quick search but found nothing.

When i asked that specific question to a friend the other day when i read about this on another site, he said yes, it will emulate physx on those mentioned cards.
He said it would "uses spare clocks built into the card that aren't being used, to do the physics"
Next week sounds good too. I'll be keeping an eye out for it.
Now scheduled for the 12th, according to this...

Nvidia may have written this demo with its GeForce GTX 200 graphics cards in mind, but we had no trouble playing it at 1680x1050 on our lowly GeForce 8800 GT. We didn't benchmark this particular test, because we somehow couldn't run it with PhysX acceleration disabled. You probably get the idea by now, though—PhysX-heavy games and demos tend to run like slideshows without hardware acceleration.

9800GTX users (any card with a G92 chip, that's 8800GT and newer) have had access to PhysX for a few weeks now. Install the latest driver, along with the latest PhysX driver from nVidia (not officially out yet, look on guru3d), set it to use the GeForce, and y'am off. These new drivers add support for G80 chips, that being 8800GTX and GTS.
I can't tell you if this works with CoH, but in theory if you replaced the PhysX DLLs in the CoH directory with newer ones it would work. They used a similar technique to get UT3 running PhysX on early drivers. I'm not trying that though.
Also, beware the Forceware 177.79, they break CoH!
Necrobond - 50 BS/Inv Scrapper made in I1
Rickar - 50 Bots/FF Mastermind
Anti-Muon - 42 Warshade

Aber ja, natrlich Hans nass ist, er steht unter einem Wasserfall.
Javing just got a 9800gtx I though I'd have a go with the beta drivers (177.39 beta) to get physx to work on the card (as I know my 17" screen resolution is not stressing it)
got the drivers installed fine no problems there, physx seems to be running on the card fine and I can run the physx demos ok.
But in CoH the PhysX option is still greyed out. (I don't what to set the physics partical setting to max as I need the cpu to feed this monster of a card)
I'm Just wonder if:
1- Anyone has got PhysX working off the graphics card?
2- Is this not supported yet by coh?
3- Will it be?
4- is it already supported and working, just not telling me it's running?
