Wolfspider to level50

From what I've seen everyone hates wolf spiders, considers it a slog through a swamp of suckage and failure. I don't see why, I love my little wolf spider and his gun-toting glory, with each wolf spider who joins his team he gets far stronger and benefits everyone else.

Which is why I've decided to do something most people laugh at me for when I tell them:
I'm going to get a wolf spider to level 50, with some help from double XP weekend my journey that is more than halfway done, I'm level 26 I believe.

This is the build I'm using right now, I haven't included slots because honestly...I'm not sure what to use. Input would be appreciated.

This is going to be a very team centric build, hence the resuscitate

If you haven't seen it yet, there's a good Wolf Spider guide here.

Thats a really good guide to the point of me almost not being able to agree more, the build however has me wondering, for one why is haste 4 slotted?

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

Yeah i have seen that build, it's what first encouraged me to give it a go, and to prove my friends wrong of course

So far I'm lvl39 just got my bots and everything is going very well, I can contribute very easily to a team damage and tank wise (sometimes). A few mobs are a pain like master illusionists and night widows which seem to be unaffected by my rifle fire, but generally im doing good

If you don't mind having the claws at your back, I'd go for Wolf/Crab. Just keep the gun attacks from wolf, and grab Aim, the whole secondary and Omega Maneuver from crab.

Or you could go with bane powers like described in the linked guide.

And yeah, wolf spiders are pretty awesome.

Wolf Spiders aren't really Wolf Spiders with bloody great claws on their backs though.

Yeah, I think that'll be closer to a Webmaster, but no point calling oneself that without a webgrenade.

Crab wouldn't be worth it I reckon, thematically at least. But I don't think I'd pass up surveillance it's great for bosses.

It does add to the "armed to the teeth" (pun intended) appeal though. My soldier is certainly going for crab while taking most of the attacks from wolf, although I am taking a few crab attacks as well for maximum AoE goodness.

Between ranged attacks of the Crab pack and Rifle blasts there shouldn't really be redraw issues I hope.

There is no redraw rifle > crab, but there is a redraw pause crab > rifle. Using a crab power puts the rifle away.

I really should do something about this signature.

Any "no logic to the putting away of the rifle" do you think?

I've dinged 50 on my wolf, it's been quite a ride but damn if it wasn't worth it.

I have to admit I swapped to bane after I dinged 50 just to see what I've been missing. The learning curve for bane is pretty damn steep but I've got the hang of it now.

Go wolf spiders still though

I was trying for a full Wolf Spider build as well, and ended up making him a medic. The real problems I found are;
1. Pure Wolfs are WAY too squishy if they solo
2. Medicine means you have to team. No team, your doomed.
3. You miss out on all the cool stuff! =P

That noted, I then went on to make a Bane Medic on mids. He was consideralby tougher and all, but the problem again was the interuptable healing powers.
In the end, I got him to lvl 24...and gave in to the pure massacring goodness of a fullblood Bane =P
With Arachnos, the best defence is a murderous offence. Anyone who has played on a team of 6 or 7 Crabs and/or Widows knows the horrendous ammount of damage they can bring to bear.

One cool idea would be to take the Bane path with no medicine and such, and make the character look like a TacOps, seeing as they have Maces too.
