Just about to hit level 41 and haven't taken this power yet. Is it worth it?

I'd say it's worth it for the Def alone, not to mention the Psi Res and shorter duration of Mezzes

Synapse: I had to resist starting my last post off with "Yo dawg!"

Was a bit unsure about it, since I don't need to worry about the mezzes and the fact that it's a passive. Actually, if I take this, is it still worth having Indomitable Will?

Yes, as Indomitable Will gives Mez Protection, so they don't affect you, whereas Foresight gives Mez Resistance, so they affect you for a shorter time.

Foresight's defence is a nice amount and I would recommend it ASAP to be honest, unless you are building a controllery fortunata and feel you don't need much defence.
The scaling resistance can be nice too. Foresight and Combat Training: Defensive together give just a bit more res than the 3 /SR passives do. It will stop you going down as fast, but it's not an incredible lifesaver.

Nah, I've been going down the Widow path, playing on Vicious and so far I haven't felt much need for it. It's only been recently, with the higher levels that I've felt the need for greater defence - and the extra resistance is a bonus too.

well if this helps:
my mates IO'd mind dom needs domination to break through my foresigh and ID defence. even the rikti bosses/mez have a hard time.

ID is a toggle while forsight is a auto so urll always have something. thts alone is worth getting as soon as mt8

the effects and rewards forsight has is a top power for any nw or fort

OMG - You are totally underestimating the value of this power.
I cannot stress how valuable it is.

The lower your health is, the more resistance you have to EVERYTHING.

This means Fire, Cold, Toxic, Smashing, practically everthing.

When you get to about 70% health, you will notice about 12% smashing resist (thats all I monitor really), then at 50% it will be about 30% then at 25% health you will get about 50% resist, and when you are at about 10% health, you will get about 70% resist. This power can totally save your life.

You will loose count of the number of times that you have survived a team massacre (team gets killed, but you survive).

I managed to stand up against Numina, who was a hero, but granted 3 levels below me. (Team got killed, and I went on, and kept alive until the team got back to health).

All because of this power, with high enough regen, and decent defense, you can be practically unstopable. Defense makes it harder for them to hit you, resistance increase means that even if they do hit you, it does less damage.

In the end, when you are down to about 25% health, against most mobs, you will find that your regen can start to heal you, because 1) They can barely hit you because of defense, 2) Their Damage is too low to dent you.

An attack that would do 76ish damage, would be reduced to about 20ish when you are at a quarter health. In all honesty, this power is one of the reasons you receive the same patron powers as a brute would. It provides more resist in one power than any other power that I know of. Granted, you have to be low health to receive that bonus. But Still....

I hope you discover its usefulness yourself.

If you are ever about, look my Fortunata up - Orici.

Actually the sliding resistance from Foresight is +0.4% res(all) [except psi and toxic] for each 1% HP below 75%, but it stacks with the (same) sliding resists from CTefense (so for example you get an additional 20% res at 50% health with both, or 40% res at 25% health).

It's also one of the few powers for widows which grant resistance to defense debuffs.

Ok, I didnt know the exact figures, but its true, it does get you up to about 70+% resistance when you are very vey low on health.

And with enough defense, surviving just one blow can make the difference between dying horibly, or surviving long enough to pop a insp to heal.
