GM routines useless?

I went into the abyss, and came back with a 'I Wub GMs' hat from the mysterious creatures.
I haven't needed to contact GMs that much over my time in CoH/V - maybe half a dozen petitions since I started playing in I5, if that - but the only time they ever got back to me in-game swiftly was the very first petition I sent - all of the other times have been email follow-up only with the problem being sorted 1-2 days after the fact.
My most notable was a timed mission that I had 90mins to do, but soon realised was bugged. Because I didn't want to fail it I actually sat in the mission after petitioning until the timer ran out - I also stayed in game for a couple of hours after that (with email open in the background so I could check it) and I didn't get an email response until 10mins after I logged out saying that I was being contacted by email because I hadn't been online when the GM checked for me (and by then there was nothing he could do anyway).
That has happened again since, the email response arriving in my inbox soon after my log-out, so I am slightly suspicious that certain GMs might prefer email over in-game communication - but two occurrences is not a big enough sample size to rule out pure coincidence.
Though tbh this is still one of the best MMOs I've played for CS response - at least the GMs here always follow-up somehow - I've played MMOs that don't get back to you for over a week or even not at all, even for game-breaking issues.

from my knowleadge from GM helpers is they can be quick on the mark from pertitions sent to an half hour (but i guesss that when there super computer comes out the BBC Mirco computer). But the tell i get from them is a light blue and from my computer set-up in chat for that is system, so my though is there tell system is on another level of tell in systems.
Plus i think they give you a 5 min reply window incase u gone AFK

I don't think they do I petitioned yesterday on a bugged mission and as soon as I logged I checked my email there was one for a GM. Today I follow up and say I'll wait until 9pm. I leave my PC for under 5mins in that time I get a response from another GM and when I send a tell they have gone
I'm now getting well [censored]. I'm now giving up on this bug and I'll make do with only 2 mission slots (can't auto complete no mission giver will admit to giving it to me)

I don't think their routines are useless - I think they're very carefully planned.
That's 3 times now I've petitioned a mission (latest one was alevel 40 boss in mission when I've taken it at level 35) and 3 times the email telling me I wasn't online has dropped into my inbox less than 30 seconds since I log out, even if I've been on for hours since the petition.
Since I've been checking my email whilst I'm playing and since I've been playing for varying lengths of time in each of these circumstances, I can only assume that the customer service we are getting needs looked at.
If the GMs aren't responding deliberately until someone logs off, then what's the sodding point of them?
Shame, because I remember a few times around Issue 7 or 8 when I got a response within 5 minutes. Standards sure are slipping.

I can't really say that's been my experience. I tend to get the email usually a good 24 hours later...

Looks like I'm getting the efficient shirkers, whereas you're getting the lazy ones.... wait, what?!
Edit: Better and better - now I've just got an email saying "Thanks for your feedback..."
That's wonderful, thanks for that reply... now how about actually doing something about the problem?

hahahahahaha... oh wait you were serious. I have yet to have a GM turn up to a mission let alone fix anything. The funniest one I had was about 12 hours after I sent the petition for a 90min timed mission I got a "you weren't online" email. Really no sugar sherlock, and oddly the mission isn't a problem any more.
After my complaint earlier in the thread I have to take back what I said. My problem was taken on by a higher person and was solved while I was off line.
So for this I have to thank the support staff
My faith is now restored in support (well for now )

I've only ever petitioned once, when a friend of mine fell through a hole in an Arachnos map and she couldn't get out - the GM came in less than 10 minutes and fixed it.

I've petitioned three times and each time a GM has either messaged me back / fixed it within 5-10 mins.
Quickest response was while I was doing the Imperious TF. Got an insanely speedy response, guy fixed it within 2 mins.

When I used to get that on the Arachnos cave maps (where it was rather common) I just logged out and back in (if there was nobody in team who could recall me) - much faster than waiting for a GM - saves their time, and the time you save can partly be spent on a /bug report.
I have had the same mission. I solved it using auto complete. I only mention this as it could be that either something in the mission is just not clear or this is a bug that could maybe do with some dev time.
As for GMs I have come to believe that they are shadows of reality. They don't truly exist in the same way that the servers do, but are instead figments of the imagination. Tied to automated email servers that send out "you weren't online" emails and other automated responses. They drift between users on the servers desperately trying to grab a little bit of reality from the users they assist. Most of the time the ebb and flow of the universe keeps them away from us and outside their reach and control. At others the servers are as real to them as a table is to us. That's when they can indulge themselves and assist players in an orgy of control and power.
I, however, have yet to see one of these mysterious creatures.
