Okay well I caved in waiting and got the Unofficial i12 update for Mid's. Been playing around with a Widow build, any critique for the following?

It's a pve build thats hopefully quite capable of soloing, but will probably spend most of its life in teams.

personally i would drop hasten and SS slot swift and mental training with 2 run speeds and slot sprint with 3 (swapping them out for HOs later) in order to take the other powers i would take placate alot earlier if not for the aggro management for the crit chance AoE.
would take Combat Training: Offensive, and take leadership around 20 (after stamina) and save lots of slots by not slotting any acc (done this on my bane and no problems hitting plus its a team buff alot earlier)
poisen dart does not need recharge redux even if you have a spare slot ... put it in elude for the extra def cuz even with elude your no where near cap. infact quiet a few powers seem slotted weird for max efficency in PvE i'll do one for ya for you to compare and take the best bits from both

This is what i would do if i was gunna level all the way to 50 before putting sets in (like i know you do) theres alot of slots spare this way so obviously i just put random stuff in at 50 i would respec out combat training offensive and get in Spin

Actually your build is fairly close to what mine is atm (mid 30s), except for BU/FU (I went for the "scrappery" build). A couple of points since a few things in the unofficial Mids' update are a bit off:

- IW: the base end cost is only 0.21/s so 1 EndRdx should be enough.
- Mask Presence: same end cost, the base +def is really low (2.5%), so I wouldn't bother enhancing.
- Mind Link: you can't actually slot +Res enhances (or sets) into it. I would slot 3 Def until you can get Def/Rech from sets (or Membranes later on if you're stupidly rich).
- TT Leadership: 1 EndRdx should be enough. I would probably take Assault before it, but depends a bit on playstyle.

I mixed up some of the slotting, double slotted swift and mental training, so I can get around at a reasonable rate. Re-enhanced mind link and elude, moved placate forward, took out TT Leadership to put in Combat training: Offensive early. Pushed SS back to 44.

I'm pretty happy with it, anything I need to change before I respec this live?

Do you really need any def enhancements in elude? It's 60% out of the box, and on top of your widow defences I see few situations where you need the 95% defence from three slots.

How should I slot it then? I haven't personally had it before, I thought it'd be a good idea to get it for those EB/AV fights, for survivability. As you say I already have defenses with Night Widow anyway, so I thought maximise the defense to make it worth getting the power in the first place.

Elude is a nice power. I'm saying that you'll already be closish to the soft defence cap of 45% (It's good to be above that in case of +acc) and 60% unslotted is plenty IMO. You only really need recharge in it. Runspeed and Endmod might be handy, runspeed as you have all that runspeed to stack with and Elude gives a great bonus that will probably push it up to SS levels while it's up, and Endmod because, well, if you pop it during an EB/AV fight you'll love the bottomless endurance!

Oh, and another thing, Sprint is slightly better to slot for run than MT or Swift, as it gives 50% runspeed as opposed to 35%. Unless you want to invest your slots in the passive part of the speed.

I was just wondering what would work the best strike vs spin from a pvp/pve point of view.((lol stupid qeustion i know and kinda already know the answer but was just wondering what ye'all would say))

PvP: strike is better, because it's single target and not a PBAoE. Although, melee is still quite gimped in pvp... But anyways, that's the pick for PvP.

PvE: Spin is better if you like to play in teams, for a PvE soloer strike might still be a better choice.

Well I would really advise both, as strike is a pretty fast, good damage attack, with a nice end cost and a good recharge, so you can't go wrong with it. Spin is the same damage as strike (though more is AoE). Even though it has slower animation, longer rech, higher end, it's an AoE. A good damage one at that. So for PvE, it's Spin all the way, a no-brainer. For PvP, spin is [censored], as are most PBAoEs I take it, and strike will give you better mileage.

Dont PvP with a night widow.Simple as that.Fortunata is 100 times better for pvping with a VEAT.Awsome solo if u can fit in aid self and unbelievable in teams.

Oookay. Having fun with my Night Widow thus far to 30, but could use some advice on where to go next.

I have personally gone a very different route than you have, as you will see by reading back a few pags, but here's what i would recommend.

I'd get Foresight asap, then lunge at 35, smoke grenade at 38 and psi scream maybe 41 then going with your patron 44 onwards?
