Necro/Poison or /TA?
Both are good. Poison tends to work better vs small groups, TA vs larger (although you've no heal or acc debuffing going on).
TA is quite late blooming but the last 2 powers are amazing. And with i12 the Burning Oil Slick will no longer make your zombies flee in panic. Be sure to be Magic or Tech origin though, so when you do get Oil Slick you can set fire to it.
As for information on TA check my sig, its for a Grav/TA but it might be useful for you.

/TA is too much of a meh power. Although it can reach the highest -res debuff of all MM sets, it has some great moves.
However, well in my case with mercs atleast, its highly bugged. Disruption arrow often makes your pets totaly uncontrollable (aka, they stand there doing nothing, nothing helps except resummon or wait a few mins), EMP arrow is nasty if you also run leadership/shields (your end-recov is set to 0, without blue its dangerous).
Most powers have delayed actions, wich makes it sometimes not work at all. (aka your animation still going, but your target get killed). Added, redraw issues if you also play with the attacks and your (almost needed) aid other.
Boils down, full team play support or allround. First case, TA.. other cases, Poison by far. The secondairy strength of Necro is lotsa stacked -acc, wich TA has only very very little (3% iirc), where i believe the poison version is pretty strong (20% ?).

Poison for PvP of soloing. It has mainly Single Target Effects.
TA Shines in BIG groups. Whilst the individual effects are weaker, most of them (Entangle, Acid, and Ice arrow the exceptions) have absolutely HUGE areas of effect, meaning you will "Catch" most or all of the enemy every time.
So it depends what you want to play.
I'm really enjoying my Necro/Poison MM at the moment. It doesn't have a lot of tools for dealing with large groups in the secondary (Neurotoxic Breath is a decent cone slow though) but then neither does the Primary do a great deal of AoE either.
Not got a lot of Trick Arrow experience under my belt, but I don't know how well you'd cope with the aggro as your necromancy pets can only deal with things so fast...

Ice Arrow, Glue Arrow and Poison Gas are probably the best here. Although Poison Gasses sleep probably won't work too well once you get Mr Torrent-Spammer (the Lich).
EMP Arrow should be great too for a MM as you should have very few toggles (or need to be spamming anything bar Pet Commands once it hits). My (stamina) Grav/TA uses it a lot more than my Fire/Rad uses EMP which, as Sinergy says, means End takes a massive hammering from the toggles.
Single target and vs EBs etc Poison is certainly stronger though, the single target buffs are evil altogether.
Thanks for the replies everybody.
You certanly make TA sound interesting Carnifax! But I think poison is more suited to what I am looking for as an all-around character based on what the others say, so poison it is for now, but I'll certanly keep TA and your guide in mind for the future.
Hi everybody.
I've decided to make a Necromancy mastermind but I'm having trouble deciding on a secondary.
Its not a character made specifically for anything really, I enjoy most aspects of the game even if I still have no explored PvP much
So for all all-arounder would you recommend poison or trick arrow?
Poison seems very praised for being very good against big, nasty things and PvP but seems to fall short in dealing with big groups if I understand correctly?
And Trick Arrow.. well, to be honest its hard to find anything about Trick Arrow which leads me to believe its not a popular set, but looking over the powers it actually seems very good?
What are your opinions?
