Redraw should be factored into the cast time. With or without redraw the cast time should be the same. Its a new set with which such a mistake shouldn't be made.

They changed the system. Now redraw time is designed to be a factor in weapon sets, and is not included in cast times. The pauses that followed attacks where you didn't redraw in other sets are in the process of being removed.

So you have a weapon in your hand. You kick and redraw that weapon again and they want it to lower your dps? I was aware that too many powers had a attack, pose, attack, pose to them and by removing the redraw time they'd be speeding up the set. Now whilst you have the weapon your okay but the first attack has redraw to it. Aww I see VG is rifle.

My thoughts on it was:

Weapon Attack cast times = always slightly more than redraw time.
Attack cast time no redraw = lets say 1 sec.
Attack cast time with redraw = 1 sec.
Redraw could of taken 0.5 secs.

So the whole thing has a cut off point but with too short an animation that are rare in weapon sets (I really don't know any under 1 sec otomh though) it can't be done.

(I shouldn't play and write. I end up dead).

Edit: (Was a Bane btw)

That's how it worked before Dual Blades, now there's an overhaul. IT was tested a while back and Claws (to a lesser extent Katana / Ninja Blade also) were deemed to get too much of a boost and as nerfing their damage wouldn't go down well, it wasn't implemented for existing sets back then.

The existing sets that use the new system are:

Dual Blades
Archery/TA
War Mace

After issue 12, this extends to:

Broadsword
Battle Axe
SoA

Sets that still use the old system for the time being (because of balance issues):

Claws
Katana

Isnt that being designed to flaw then?

Widow has the ability to use psi attacks while their claws remain, a pretty unique thing. Reason for that, it apears to be designed this way. Could a Spider use their backpack while still having the gun drawn? Ok, Bane would be a problem, true

But if redraw cost 0,5sec each time, asume you redraw roughly 40 times a mission (my AR/Ice or Kat/Regen easily reaches this), its already 20seconds of attacktime you miss out. Specialy on the already underperforming Bane, this is quite alot

It's designed to be a drawback.

On a bane, it is intended to deter you from cherry picking the best rifle and mace attacks.

Which would be fine, if the bane was up to par in the first place.

Thats the part i just cant accept. If a widow is 'designed' to be able to do psi/claw attacks without redraw, yet a claw scrapper doing a heal or epic attack gets the redraw. (side funny one: brawl and kick dont redraw, yet punch from fighting pool does...)

Why give them a gun and a mace in the first place?

Do spiders actualy suffer from redraw while doing gun and backpack attacks?

Anyway, too much OT'ish going me thinks

That's because those powers aren't part of the same powerset.

They didn't. They game Banes a Mace and Wolf Spiders a gun. They just decided not to make branching a penalty by cutting you of from powers that where previously available. It alows people to still play wolf spiders after level 24 if they so wish.

I think they have to redraw the gun if they use it after a backpack attack. The backpack doesn't have a draw time, but using it puts your gun away. Not certain about this though.
