I'm sorry if there is already a topic on this but I couldn't find it, I have recently started to play City of Heroes and as my second character decided to make a Blaster.. But I realised a wee bit too late that I really dont know what to do..
So I was wondering if anyone could help me here, with what skills to take at what levels and the like?
As the topic says my Blaster is Archer/Devise.. any help will be greatly appreciated

There's some changes you could make for personal preference, like change of travel power (would still have Hasten in there somewhere, lovely for trip mines and RoA), Taking the snipe, possibly taking stunning shot and taser for control. If you've any questions, just ask.

Personally I wouldn't bother slotting Snap Shot as a blaster with Hasten. Blazing Arrow, Aimed Shot and Fistful will be up often enough to form a good standard attack chain even before you add Hasten into the mix (if you take Fistful earlier in the build), especially if you're planning on using the control/debuff aspects of Caltrops to good effect.

Just remember that with any Archery character, distance is key. This is less of a problem with other secondaries, but Devices requires more tactics and forethought to use effectively IMHO. With a Devices character try to set up your killing zone first, then draw/pull your targets into it.

The joy of Archery/Devices to me is that I can ditch the accuracy enhancements and put in range ones instead. The targeting drone is effective enough as it is even without the massive natural accuracy of the archery set itself.

Staying the heck away gets that little bit easier.

I rolled one of these this weekend for a concept duo. When scanning down the devices powers i noticed that cloaking device is now giving "+def (all) + dmg" Didn't think cloaking device gave a damage buff, is this a bug or has it had a dmg buff to make up for the lack of build up?

It was planned that you'd get a damage buff when attacking from stealth, but it didn't go live. It's just a text error now.

Mini bumb, i was wondering with defiance 2.0, what exactly does targetdrone and cloack give for dmg buff?
I didnt found any data on cloak (only def and stealth) but targetdrone redtomax says:
100% SetMode to Self for 0.75 seconds [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs]

And not really sure what that means..

[/ QUOTE ]You get a damage buff to the Sniper Rifle power in AR if you have TD on. Nothing else.

Hmm, coming back to this now that my Ice/Energy Blaster is drawing in on 50 (only been playing 3 weeks =D) and was wondering if someone could knock up a build for me to level with for an archery/dev blaster at all? I mean a full one and all that, what would be best etc for me to go for.. I love the blaster AT hense wanting another one to level at the same time as my lobsteroctopus ^_^ (Oh... no set enhancements for the main levelling build, just shop bought ones pwease)

You may want to rethink part of the now traditional /Devices builds in i12.
BaB has said that Castle is making the Turret pet mobile (it flies and presumably follows you).

Oooh, wasn't aware of that, will wait until i12 before deciding on my second Blaster, though given various reasons Im still undecided on my primary again =D
