Howling Twighlight is also a -500% regen in PvE, not sure if that applies PvP side but as its autohit..............
If you weren't after the panic button of Phase Shive I'd just put a stealth IO in CJ or Sprint

Taking into account you cant heal when Invised or Phased with a DM is why I suggested it

Aye. Was thinking about that and was unsure.
Power Mastery is the most likely set I'd consider for PvP due to it's Conserve Power, Power Build Up and Total Focus. In terms of PvP, those three powers would go before Temp Invul? Especially when damage on an Elec using Defender is pretty meagre.
The Dmg Res from Temp invul would be nice, however with the amount of -acc on display, I think my character should concentrate on defence rather than dmg res?
Correct me if i'm wrong as I'm still undecided.

Right my best advice on the Dark side of things would be to drop Petrifying Gaze... this is just my opinion and I know it is an awesome Single Target Hold. However, your Dark Servant will spam it frequently enough for you to get away with not using it, so you can concentrate on spamming Fearsome Stare. I'm not 100% sure but I think the Dark Servant version of Petrifying Gaze might have a slightly higher Mag anyway
Howling Twilight is very yummy in PvP... I've often found it most useful in zones. A sneaky trick you might want to try is to catch your enemies while they are up high in the air (either flying or jumping). If you hit them with Howling Twilight and your disoriantate is strong enough then they should fall helplessly and loose a nice chunk of health from the impact of landing... thats when you swoop in and go wild finishing them off
Other than that pretty much all the powers from Dark Miasma are well equiped for PvP... I'd also suggest you slot your Fearsome Stare with "Glimpse of the Abyss" IO set, the chance for Psionic damage is a lurvly bonus!

Also, if Dark Servant's holds are sufficient enough for me to remove Petrifying Gaze, that would be grand as it would allow me an extra choice in terms of power selection (ie: Temp Invul ). will have to research on it a bit more.

Yep haha the "Howling Twilight Fall and Splatter" as I like to call it is very handy... not so much on Mez protected enemies but if you get a squishy trying to flee from you it makes quite a nice finale piece!
Ermm I've tried looking up about Dark Servants hold being stronger but couldn't find anything... doesn't matter too much though, like I said he does spam it frequently enough for you to be able to skip it

Tesla Cage is a hold, not an Immob. Handy in PvP when combined with Pet' Gaze to stack holds on a boss.
Voltaic Sentinel does something like 10x Charged Bolts. Might be useful for firing whilst mezzed, I guess.
The -tohits/+def from Dark Miasma will likely give you time to fire Zapp without being interrupted.
Not an expert on PvP, far from it in fact, but Howling Twilight also accepts Slows.
I *think* Tar Patch doesn't stack anymore, if ever. Not completely certain, though. Mine's ready to fire as the old one vanishes.
As for Phase Shift, I'd suggest looking at the Ethereal Shift Temp Power Recipe. 5 x 30 second uses of a clicky phasing.
As for APPs, Electrical MacGuffins will give you Power Sink, auto-hit end drain to couple with Short Circuit. Not tried the combo personally, but I've heard good things. Charged Armor apparently stacks well with the Shadow Fall, too.

Dark Miasma :
Consideration to drop Petrifying Gaze is on the cards, IF it is spammed frequently by my Dark Servant (according to Mids both Dark Miasma and Dark Servant Petrifying Gaze is Mag3).
- Black Hole will definately dropped. But the rest of the powers in the set (with exception to Petrifying Gaze) will be taken.
Electircal Blasts:
I should really sacrifice damage for control, however in PvP...what's the point of all this control, when I'm not even making a dent in their HP?
So another question is...where am I going to find the damage?
Charged Bolts...won't even comment on. I've seen the defender damage in a 3x SO Dmg Lightning Bolt...it's laughable.
- Zapp ...very good damage. But concerns over having to slot it for interrupts, damage and acc puts me off the power as the slots would be favourable elsewhere.
- Voltaic Sentinel ...when you say 10x Charged Bolts...you mean 10 blasts before it the sentinel dissapates, or does the damage of 10x Charged Bolts(!) with each blast? <---- wishful thinking!
- Thunderous Blast ...a very tasty power. Damage is the strongest in the set. The Endurance Drain mental. Can be used ranged......but the end issues will just kill you in PvP.
Pool Powers:
Fitness and Leaping are definates.
I may drop Concealment (therefore losing out on Phase Shift) from the list, if slotting with Stealth IOs will help with the stealth I already have in Shadow Fall.
If availble power selections may consider getting the Speed pool. Mainly for Hasten (SS too as it'll combine well with SJ).
Epics:
I know I originally put that Power Mastery would be my choice epic for PvP. However after looking at Mid's last night, Electric Mastery does sound like an option.
- Electric Fence Immob and more End Drain
- Thunder Strike, although not as damaging as Total Focus, will offer me some damage.
- Charged Armour if stacks well with Shadow fall, should prove a good Dmg Res shield for me.
- Power Sink I've seen this used in and out of PvP. Its definately is a vicious End Drain tool
I have been trolling the EU forums for advice (especially Voltaic Sentinel so glad you mentioned it there Biscuit), but it is very lacking indeed (think lastest post before this, was June 2007). So any advice would be greatly received.
Once I've determined the powers I'll choose, I'll post it and it'll be onto slotting next!

I think a powerboosted Short Circuit is just as effective as Short Circuit + Powersink, it would be close anyway.
Charged Armour is one of the nicest epic shields for Defenders if I remember the number crunching I did a while back
Biggest downside of elec is its missing that lovely short ranged high damage attack (the Cosmic Burst from Rad is an example)

Ok..here's the first draft of power selections I have for my Dark/Elec. Primarily for use in High lvl solo and team PvP.
Opting for Power Mastery for the Build Up, Conserve Power and Total Focus.
The damage so far is reliant on Total Focus and my Vet Rewards...probably not a good idea... :/
Still iffy to whether to keep Voltaic Sentinel, swapping in exchange for either Zapp or Thunderous Blast, both of which may have to be 6 slotted.
Initially I would like to get this slotted for Set-IOs...but being the IO noob that I am, sensible suggestions will be considered.

I'd also not rely on Fluffy's targeting. There's no way of ensuring he'll attack who you want unless it's a one on one situation.

Terror, hold, Cage, Sexy pet, stealth with good res numbers, -50% Dmg toggle, decent heal... It gotta be good for something. Rad might be better for 1on1 matches, but I think Dark might be useful for other variations like team arena.
I find it a myth saying Dark/ can't be good for PvP (especially considering Psy blasters are coming).

Think I'm gonna go miss out Voltaic Sentinel. The damage is moderate and it doesn't exactly last that long.
It'll mean I replace it with either Zapp or Thunderous Blast.

Cool, well that's a plus point for sure.
Since not many people kicking up a fuss with me saying that I'll drop Voltaic Senticel, it'll definately be dropped.
Have updated the build to include the pvp self-endangering, Thunderous Blast. Want slotting to utilise as much damage/end drain/recharge possible. Hopefully the foe -recovery will be prolonged enough for my own -recovery to dissipate.

My Dark Miasma/electric Blast Defender is lvl25 at the moment, and running a PvE build until he reaches 50. When the time comes, I'd like to try him out for PvP.
I'm not usually one for PvP, but would like to know whether it is possible to make him into a competant PvP toon?
Below are the powers I'm interested in getting. Obviously I can't take them all (believe there's 4 too many). But once i get a better insight on a good PvP build, will be able to determine which powers will work best.
Possible Power Suggestions (not got Mids on work comp):
Dark Miasma has a lot of controls, soft and otherwise.
Twighlight Grasp: Self-heal (if it hits :P )
Tar Patch: Annoying slows, recharges quickly (even without hasten) for double use
Darkest Night: foe -def and -acc
Shadow Fall: My defensive shield
Fearsome Stare: Fear...'nuff said :P
Petrifying Gaze: Hold power!
Dark Servant: Pet no.1! Extra heals and debuffs...if it can be bothered(!)
Howling Twigight: Disorientates...but is it potent enough in PvP?
Electrical Blasts I expect can be very useful draining energy, however the Defender damage is pretty laughable! With Power Build Up from the Power Mastery pool, in PvE I can imagine it to be quite devastating in terms of End drain, but in PvP will it make enough of a dent in someone's endurance?
Charged Bolts: Bleh!
Lightning Bolt: "High Dmg" blast :/
Short Circuit: Whoop! Uber endurance drain power no.1
Tesla Cage: Immob and end drain (minimal :/ )
Voltaic Sentinel: Pet no.2! Jury is out on this one...sufficient extra damage? No idea...if pants might change for Zapp (superior dmg with good end drain...however it's a snipe, so can easily be inerrupted unless slotted)
Thunderous Blast: Dangerous power to use in PvP I reckon, mainly due to the end issues it gives you once used. Plus points are the smash/energy dmg, Mag2 stun, can be used at range and the foe endurance drain is extreme. I heard storied of someone using this slotted with range. Sniping people at a distance with a nuke...I can see that being a lot of fun!

Swift: since going with SJ, this'll do nicely
Health: hmm...this or Hurdle?
Stamina: Neccesity
Leaping
Combat Jump: Will do nicely with Shadow Fall
Super Jump: Travel power
Acrobatics: Mez protect!
Concealment Pool
Stealth: Sneaky
Invisibility: Sneakier
Phast Shift: Panic safety button!
Speed
Hasten: Quicker recharge times!
Power Mastery
Conserve Power: Conserve that end!
Power Build Up: Makes them secondary effects and damage that little more annoying to foes
Total Focus: Powerful attack expecially for a defender!
