Mind/Fire, Fire/Psi or...

Hey hey,

I'm looking to build a Dominator which is good in soloing and AoE damage. I'd prefer ranged combat for this character and a mental/fire theme (so either Mind/Fire or Fire/Psi). Question of course is: which build would be better for me?

Also, if there's another build that's just way better for solo/aoe than the two I've mentioned, please let me know as well.

/psi is not the one to go for if you want to stay at range, a fire/psi is all about being in the middle of a large mob and wiping them all out. Though when youve locked a mob down, being in middle of them aint much of a problem.

Just remember, that domies get melee and ranged attacks, and some of the higher damage powers are melee.

For soloing, a mind/fire or mind/ice would do nicely (ice being weaker on the aoe damage, but it has powerboost )
Everyone is your pet once you get confuse, and the control is very nice too. And on teams, everyone will thank you for the nice aoe control you can lay down.

I think mind/fire is maybe just a little bit more suitable for what you're looking for. Most of /fire's AoE's need you to be in melee range anyway, but you get them earlier along with fire breath.

The only other build I would consider is plant fire, since you get seeds of confusion at lvl 8. You can use that to bunch the enemies up nice and close for your cones and area attacks. Not sure if plant fits your mental theme though.

With the change in flares, I can keep my toon at range doing lot of dmg, but it is single target...

Just 1 quick question: if u want to solo, why do u want AoE?? IMHO u should worry bout AoE when u teaming a lot...
