I underestimated the importance of casting time -
But isn't Fire's single target damage also superior to the other primaries?
-
Is it me, or is Fire the best primary powerset for soloing by far? The extra damage you do is pretty substantial. All the other primaries either help with defense (which just draws things out) or only result in more damage while used in a team (by lowering defenses).
So why am I posting this? Well, this is mostly based on theory and I wanted to see if it was actually correct. If you just want to solo, is there a reason (other than concept) to not take Fire/*?
Edit: I'm new to CoX, so my assumptions could be way off. This really is more of a question than a statement -
Hey hey,
I'm looking to build a Dominator which is good in soloing and AoE damage. I'd prefer ranged combat for this character and a mental/fire theme (so either Mind/Fire or Fire/Psi). Question of course is: which build would be better for me?
Also, if there's another build that's just way better for solo/aoe than the two I've mentioned, please let me know as well. -
Playing around a bit, I finally decided to roll up a Controller. Now, since I didn't want to have the over-popular "FotM" power sets, I thought I'd settle for gravity. Looking at this forum however, it seems I made a mistake... is gravity actually the hottest primary right now?

Okay, thanks for the answers so far
Three follow-up questions:
- What's so terrible about Stone?
- How about Willpower? Too soon to call?
- I like being 'slow', but I guess there's no place for that in PvP? -
Still very new to this game, and I have a few more questions about the PvP scene. How balanced is it? I know, very generic question, but is this the type of game where only 4 or so AT/powerset combo's are actually played by the serious PvPers? Or where almost noone plays <random AT> or <Villain/Hero> because it sucks?
Are there way too common / too rare character builds out there? -
Hey hey,
New to CoX, big PvP fan (though I understand this isn't a hardcore PvP game). Anyways, a quick question: is a Tanker viable at all in PvP? I like being the tough guy and winning through endurance. Is this in any way possible in CoX PvP?
Thanks
