Need help plz-Burn & Taunting questions, tyvm.

Hi, i just got Burn, i think i might have wasted a power here this is why think i have -

Burn Makes the mobs run away & i thought it was Basically -
Blazing Aura but Burn on Ground.

So because they are running away, should i Slot Taunt's on Blazing Aura/Attacks?

Also Burn has slow rechrge i think i will need 3 slots for perm.
But if i do that i dont think i will have any spare slots to add Dmg?

I dont have Hasten as i dont need it atm.
Sorry i dont have my build @ hand i will look it up if you need me to?

I have a Vet respec i could use if Burn is of no use to me, but i do understand it will help teammates in help on team who have agro on them as i Dont have taunt atm.

Burn is a bit of a tactical power until you can pick up a nice AoE hold from your patron powers. You can use it to scare mobs from a teammate, or from yourself on those odd occasions when you have a little too much aggro to handle.

I wouldnt bother slotting blazing aura with taunts, stick with damage! I also wouldn't bother trying to make burn perma. And you don't need hasten either, although some +recharge set bonuses are nice to have. If you really don't like it then you could drop it for taunt.

AoE Imob from patron attacks, there's no AoE hold, though it would be nice.

Burn doesn't take much to be perma and with full fury and BU its nice, very nice

As others have said just wait till you get your aoe immob from your patron. Until then find a dark/ corr to team with

I only have a fire tanker and i find burn fantastic both for damage and migration as it can give that breather you often need.
And dont worry about tha taunt it already last long enough for them to return to you for more of the same kind.
And geting it perma wile it sounds intriging it will hardly be needed.

Burns a bit of a hit or miss power i have it on my dark/fire brute and at first thought about dropping but it dose have its uses some i've found are

- drop it in door ways and stand the oposit side from the mobs thell spend most of there time running in and out the patch so wont be shooting at u

- Drop it when you have just to much agro and your heals just not recharged yet the mobs around you will scatter and bye u a few more seconds to mash that heal button

- make freinds with any one who has a AOE imobailse herd a group into a corner get them to imob and u drop burn instant BBQ or if your dark like me use midnight grasp then burn patch to toast a mob while you move on to the next

So give it a chance for a few lvls and dont worry about slotting it (mines still just got 1 damage SO in it) you may find you come to rely on it

I used to use the burn + patron immob trick, but I found that by the time I've pulled my mace out [bad choice? Im not sure] and fired off the burn patch, it would have been quicker to slice 'n' dice with my fire sword :\

Bit late to the party, but I have found Burn to be an *excellent* part of my initial attack chain since I first slotted it. This is mainly because I use it on a Super Strength/Fire Brute.

Jump in, possibly pause a moment in meleeist mobs to let Blazing Aura draw enemies in tight. Drop Burn immediately followed by Footstomp. That'll drop most minions on their behinds, which are on fire, leaving you to give the lts and bosses a solid spankering.

As others mentioned above, a Patron mass immobilize power definitely helps, along with Dominators that have mass mez - mass immob not looking quite so rough now eh?

I was in the hospital for some of this but a really hard Longbow EB mid 30 levels and his mates wiped the team. All but for the fire/fire brute (really good brute) The brute fought on but went down to next to nothing end. I am pretty sure it then became a taunt burn taunt burn game till we all got back to help finish off what little was left.

Burn is a SUPERB power, if a little situational. It is your immob mitigation power apart from anything, it is also very useful against foes that are resistant to fear like rikti drones and Nemesis jaegers, and it has no accuracy component so never misses (particularly useful against Rikti Drones because of their high def).

It is doubly useful if your primary contains powers with disorient abilities. I have a stone / fire brute, and therefore open up with fault, which is an AoE knock down and stun, then lay down a burn patch while they're staggering about. Also good as /fire brutes do tend to be a bit squishy, so if things get too much, you can lay down a burn patch to buy you some breathing space.

Don't think of it as a "Static Blazing Aura", it's not that AT ALL.

I have reached the heady heights of lvl 41 on Red Rag and picked my patron AoE immob - electrifying fences. All I can say is Bwuhahaha! Total carnage!
