I use that trick to mount the large Veteran display boxes on the wall. Because they look silly when they stand on the floor. But then I realized that they look neat on top of a grey desk if you turn the desk front towards the wall.
Yeah read about this a wile back, so glad they finally decided to share the method for doing this.
Have already tried it on multiple items and being able to stack stuff that is non-stackable makes a huge difference when you are trying to make your base look separate from all others.
Also the vet rewards look good on top of the arcane engraved/altar stone about the same size as a desk.
Also you can now make complete wall sections with two stacked file cabinets (the blue one you base builders know what I mean), not to mentions the whole two floors per room thing.
