I do like the fanboy/girl idea from Havoc Fang
Just as a warning to all though: Anything we come up with will have been done before (as a starting idea) - maybe not exactly but just to point it out as something which is inevitable and therefore we can conceivably discard as it being wrong... ohmigosh I've lost the power of coherent typing *dribbles*. Sorry, it's this extra-strength flu medicine I'm on.
Anyway, if someone with a much better grasp of what I'm trying to convey would like to convey it betterly (!) then please do.
How can we do that when we don't know what the hell you're talking about?
'You lose more of your femininity every day Doroe. It's very appealing.' - SLEDGEHAMMER!
From what I interpreted she's saying that nothing is original in this world and the few things that are should be accused of being done before and brutally attacked with nucular warheads.
I think.
Perhaps a group of wealthy collectors could set this up and pull a few strings to get the ball moving. Their true plan would be that they are betting money on the hero/villain to get the selected items. The winner getting the money that was bet plus the items that were stolen for their own, personal collection.
Could go further to say it all started in a meeting where they starting discussing heroes and villains and got into an argument of who was the best, so had to prove who was right with a contest, all of whom involved have fans and bets on them for who is the best.
I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc
I nominate Crimson Archer's Motley Fool as a main villain This would of course require his permission, but man that dude looks crazy!
Almost there - Oh and I'm a he, not a she :P
I meant, as observed from past plots, that the chances are we will end up doing something that has been done before and so we shouldn't worry about that aspect of the plot - it's bound to happen. Therefore it'd be nice just to run with the whole idea and not worry about being 'unoriginal'. Anyway, back to dribbling for me.

You should see a doctor about that...
Is there a doctor present!?

The Grav Mistress, Mistress of Gravity
If you have nothing useful to say, you have two choices: Say something useless or stay quiet.
A real doctor mind you, not Doc Mechano.

A thought on the incentives, partially inspired by the original one for Big Game: perhaps it should be more like a bet? Our organising millionaires or whatever approach each hero individually, and show them a briefcase full of money. They're told that if they acquire Item A for the group, the money will go to the charity or cause of the hero's choice. If they don't, it will be given to whatever villain group the hero finds most distasteful. Villains (other than ones like Big Game for whom the above would work) could be offered the money for themselves, or some other similar reward. Again, each character is told they're the only one who's been offered this deal, and is not allowed to tell anyone.
Knights Exemplar: Wolfram, Autumnfox, Starlit Spirit.
Militia: The Portent, Wavekite, Mr. Sandman.
The Cadre: WarpLocke, Zajin.
Numerous others.

I perscribe(sp) fire and lots of it!
works for anything.
Badge Earned: Wing Clipper
A real showstopper!
Yeah, people don't feel pain when they're reduced to ashes.
By the way, I agree with the incentives. Easier to RP.
Any updates?
Yep, I still want to do this, but at the moment it is on hold due to real life eating up my time as well as working on the Supremacy plot.
Once stuff calms down, il roll it out.
Dead now because Britanic is gone? Or will someone else take over?
Ok its obvious there is plenty of interest in this, and there is all kind of goodies out there worth nabbing.
I had a rethink about the putting people in peril bit as an incentive mainly due needing to have extra contigency plans in place to deal with overzealous heroes, or narked villains.
As for the main villain I have had everything from bored gazillionaires, cosmic beings, Greek Gods, obssesive hero fan boys, and a genius PC gamer geek run through my head.
As for the event itself, im not actually looking to run it for a few weeks just yet. However im off work next week so im hoping to have a full plot outline, and plan ready for posting. after that it will be a case of setting a start, and finish date, and let the chaos begin.
In the meantime feel free to continue expressing your interest in being a part of this event, and any thoughts you might have in this thread.
