once team has fought there first fight though that team MUST stay the same (respec however you like of course even between fights as this is a option of the game)

Sounds like fun, it's hard to do paper stone scissors in a pentad as most try to balance it as much as possible.

But seriously unless there's hardcore prizes I don't see it taking off. S4 worked because everything was new, there wasn't a team right at the top of the skill/experience ladder, there wasn't a set best team that'll work 9/10 times. It was just a bunch of people dicking about having a laugh trying to win free stuff.
Now though, I don't know. As much as I'd love a new pentad ladder backed by NC, I can't see it coming soon.
Organized PVP doesnt really work anymore here in EU because there is an established group of PVPers with huge amounts of hours and inf invested. The winners will always be among these, which kills the interest for new pvpers imo. Everybody knows pvpers are a competitive bunch. Then why bother taking part if you cant win. This is why my own motivation in PVP has died and why I do mostly zones now. Even if the pvpers have luckily managed to avoid elitism, the results are still the same Im afraid.
If you want to promote PVP properly then make some sort of 'beginners tourneys' where the abovementioned people are ruled out from participating, or have fights at lower levels. In order for pvp to be enjoyable, fighting against people of similar level has a huge factor. It makes no sense pitting some newbie pvper against maximally IO-slotted people with hundreds of hours of pvp behind them.
ps. I dont see myself taking part in a pentad Im afraid, I don't have people to practise with regularly, and there would be no chance of victory for pickup team.
pps. Or maybe I have these views jsut because Im on defiant..
A tournament below 40 might work better, most PvP'ers that are used to fighting in big teams do so at 40/50 for the most part so it'd be a case of using new toons or toons that aren't properly levelled/built/used.

Haha, but can we do no travel powers with scrappers only? I've been playing WoW. 
S4 was so long ago now that most of the people that took part in it have left the game now So theres no reason why the newer guys wouldn't be able to make something from this.

Pity that there propably isnt enough players for a proper pentad tournament even if we'd get all current PVPers that we know of..

If a RED name could maybe bring back the badge titles awarded with these avents please do so.(as this is a big Incentive for ppl to enter these comps.)
rules are simple.
only 5 of the at availble are able to team during these events.
the winner's get the badge they have earned i.e "heavey weight champs"
these are arranged on test server( to allow other more un pop servers to enter)
matches are arranged with 2 weeks notice(to allow ppl to make SURE they are on at the times chosen)
if not then the match is forfitted(fair enough i think)
