PvP guidance requested...

Right, first off I a complete newbie when it comes to PvP, having only ever taken a defensive role during PvP zones (by Defensive, I mean hit them once...then run )...but I thought I might give it a try, seeing as its a part of the game and won't be going anywhere soon.

What I would like are some ideas for ATs and powersets to take that work well in both PvP and PvE situations...as i'll still only PvP casually till I know if I like it or not.
Doesn't really matter what powersets are used, i'll learn and adapt like I always do....but would like to go for something thats pretty offensive, for the times when there's no PvP teams about, also i'm looking to have 1 Hero, 1 Villain to start with...to get a feel for both sides.

Also while i'm here, thought i'd find out if there are any general codes of conduct to abide by....the Do's and Don'ts as it were.

Ty for the future replies....and hope to see you in the field.

Go for a Scrapper,Rad Troller ,/Elc Brute or Stalker

My personal advise would be to go for a Scrapper as they are a all round good PvP toon they do have disadvantages that people will exploit in zones but so does every AT. Choose a powersets that looks interesting to you otherwise you will never get the toon leveled.

As for Do's and Donts my only advise is DONT respond to spam in broadcast or in tells just stay quiet it provokes the player that is spamming abuse more than spamming back would. Everything else is as you like as it says at the PvP Zone entrances any and everything goes. Just respect other people. Treat others as you would treat yourself.

Chin if you wanna do that with a new toon in any server (Defiant or Union) i can join you, it you make a hero tho.

But i want to try it on hard way (with out rad or scrapping). I want to build a defender so we can level our toons together.

Find a toon you enjoy playing and learn the basics. Turn up to Pocket D on test on a Monday night and watch people PvP or join in with what ever you have till you get your ideal toon levelled. As for Do's and Don'ts - don't get annoyed when you are defeated and do learn why you were defeated. Eventually you'll be defeated less and the number of people you defeat will go up. Having a good knowledge of other powersets, other PvPers and what is going on helps alot.

Cool...think i'll take a Scrapper and Stalker, was kinda leaning towards those anyway.

Next, the sets...I already have 2 Scrappers that could turn to PvP, a lvl50 MA/Rgn and a mid 30s DM/SR...which off these lend themselves to PvP a little easier.
As for the Stalker, because I already have a SR thought I might try out the /Nin set...looks kinda cool amd has a few nifty tricks to it, any suggestions to what primary would suit /Nin...Ninja Blade jumps to mind, but i've never had a high lvl one before and i've heard it lacks a little POW! factor.

I highly recommend em/fire brute for wb + pvp and sm/fire for up to sc level.

**Acceptable "support" responses**

Its your fault
Its your computers fault
Its your ISPs fault
