I9 MA/DA Scrapper

I need a respec, some changes in my powers, their enhacements and IO Sets are needed. But I'm not good at planning IO Sets or placing enhacements to get the better of each power. And MA/DA build are rare in this forum...
My build is this one:

I'm happy with my main attacks, Thunder Kick, Storm Kick, Crane Kick and Eagles Claw; and I've used the most common slotting for them. I use often Dragon's Tail, and I've slotted it in different ways. I like Air Superiority, a power I had forgotten and even out of my power tray. It works fine in my attack chain, it's useful not just for flying enemies but also for knocking up enemies. But I'm not sure about how to slot it.
Main Dark Amor powers, Dark Embrace, Murky Cloud and Obsidian Shield, have the most basic slots. I've got the whole Aegis Set but I don't know if it's useful with these powers, I've seen that people uses other sets instead.
Any ideas about how to improve this MA/DA toon? Every time I sit and try to plan a respec or a set slotting I get a headache...

Not familiarised enough with MA, on the DA side, I'd personally put another endrdx on toggles. Air Superiority and Jump Kick, I usually leave them with an Accuracy enhancement on the base slot, but that's with Focused Accuracy, I guess without Focused Accuracy or Tactics, 2 Acc in both Air Superiority and Jump Kick would be enough. For sure their recharge time is short enough to waste a rchg enhc in any of them, plus they are very low on end, besides I am not sure their dmg is worth enhancing.-

First of all, I'd drop jump kick for combat jumping. Mobility > a crappy attack anywhere.

I'd try to squeeze in stamina a bit earlier, hasten can be later in the build as can be dark regen. Change dragons tail and eagles claw around, you want your bighitter at 32 for exemping.

That's about it for the powers... Might look at the sets a bit later

If your lvl 50:
I would look at steering clear of the Aegis set's. They cost way to much to buy recipes, salvage or fully crafted. My suggestion would be to save your money and slot with 2 endredux IOs & 3 dmg res IOs. I've added a 6th slot to mine to take a Steadfast KB protection IO in all 3.
If you did this, you could drop the 3 powers you have from the jumping pool and get cloak of darkness, you could also get samina earlier if you dropped the leaping pool.

Then take the money you save on the Aegis set IOs (or money you make from flogging them) and get for example a numina's +10% recovery +20% regen or a luck of the gambler global recharge reduction.

I don't think /DA needs the set bonus's Aegis or Titanium coating gives you.

I agree, and I even tried that in some old respec, time ago. But. No JK No Acrobatics, and I soon discovered that I couldn't live without Acrobatics. Would Steadfast in 3 DA powers give me KB protection enough? What would be the % comparison between Acrobatics and 3 Steadfasts?

>> If you did this, you could drop the 3 powers you have from the jumping pool and get cloak of darkness, you could also get stamina earlier if you dropped the leaping pool.

I take note of Stamina earlier. I've never played without CJ, and I'm not sure what I'd lose. Is the Immobilization protection it gives enough miss it without CJ? I've read some CJ slotting guide with interesting results. Anyway, I'd have 2 more powers to choose, if I'd keep CJ and repec the other 2.
Cloak of Darkness is a useful power that I had until I hit 50, a year ago. After that I realized that I never used it again. So I repec'd it out. I did the same with Boxing-Tough, didn't feel any difference playing with or without Tough, so... out!.

Took note of it, thx for info!

Where should I slot Numina's or LoG?

>> I don't think /DA needs the set bonus's Aegis or Titanium coating gives you.

Awww, no sets for we poor DA Scrappers?

Gonna try making a built with your info and post it...

If you take CoD, it gives you mag 10 immob res +perception and stealth. Not a bad package.

LotG you can slot in cloak of darkness or CJ if you keep it. Numina you can put into health acording to Hero planner. I currently have mine in dark regen.

I like to take tough on a /DA as it gives you 55%+ res to S/L dmg.

I've laid out what I think about the DA powers and their effects in a guide (in the guides section ) Take a look.

Ok, this is the project I've done with your suggestions. I've tried to get Eagles Claw earler but it seems that lvl 32 is the earlies. And I've taken Fighting pool because I didn't know what else to do. People usually don't get Weave, is that useless? Should I take something else instead?

I've done the slotting you suggested too. Please tell me your opinion about this new project

1 steadfast grants KB protection mag 4, same as the one from Karma (defense). It is pretty much agreed mag 12 should be enough for 99% of foes in PvE, hence either 3 steadfast or 3 Karma or a combination (in fact you might get away with just 2). For PvP I am not sure, but I think it is 4 at least.-

Which mag has KB power?

Posted

Testing it in test server. Ugh, Fighting pool sucks my end, didn't happen this before...

Probably you could also do without Weave and add a couple endrdx in Tough.
If you wanted Weave for allocating a defense set IO in the future, you'd better use Combat Jumping instead, better movement and far less end consumption.

I'd use CJ instead of weave and allocate a KArma KB prot on it, Use the dmg slot from Kick to Tough, so you can put 1 endrdx and 1 Steadfast KB prot, that would give you less end consumption and good KB prot. The Steadfast Protection in Dark Embrace, Murky Cloud and Obsidian Shield would be unnecessary then, if a 3rd one is required then you may want to use it in one of them, in the meantime, better try with 1 karma in CJ and 1 Steadfast in Tough and see how it goes, since your major shields will be better with a 3rd dmgres.-

I'd really would change more things, but it seems you are going for a determined power choice hence I am trying to suggest minimum changes to your build to respect your power choices as much as possible.-

Well, there are only some powers I'm stick to.
Attacks: TK, SK, CK, EC
DA: DE, MC, OS
Travel: Fly
"Self Preservation": Health, Stamina, Dark Regeneration, Soul Transfer
Then, and that's my way of playing, mainly solo, I have some powers that allow me to keep foes uncapable of attack me because they are KB, KUp, Hold, Stun while I defeat them: Cobra Strike, EC also, Dragon's Tail, Opressive Gloom, Petrifying Gaze, and Sands of Mu.

I'll try in test the built you suggest. But I'm seeing that, I can't take a 5th Pool, I have Fitness, Fly, Fighting and Speed; dunno how I can get also CJ.

Please don't hesitate in giving me even a completely different built, maybe be it makes me discovery a new approach.

[/ QUOTE ]

3 x Mag 4 KB IOs should be enough unless you get hit by a couple of gales or something similar.

Heros planner gives the KB mag of each power.

I normally leave weave out on /DA, even slotting CJ, CoD and Weave for defence you can only get 20 odd %, which is ok. But you'd be better of concentrating slots on dmg res which is what /DA is all about.

I'll post you up an example build on monday when I'm in work.

Why don't you aim at getting recovery and endurance?
Imho DA is an all-powerfull set with the problem of too many toggles. Just a thought though...

Also, for mmore dark regen, get these nifty acc/rech bonuses.Good idea is crushing impac, gives 7% acc ang 5% rech along with 1,13% hp that are not great but can't hurt.
Slot this in 4 attacks(eagle claw, crane kick, thunder kick and storm kick for example)=20 per cent rech, 28%acc all powers, much more dark regen love.

Also, do not forget dark regen's need for +acc enhancements when aiming for set healing bonuses, which don't have any. Keep 2 acc enhs there.

To be honest, if you're not running Death Shroud (OP doesn't have it), Cloak of Fear (OP doesn't have it!) and and Focussed Accuracy (OP doesn't have it!!) /DA isn't all that heavy on the Endurance.

The equivilant of two EndRed SOs in each of the 3 resistance toggles and tough/acrobatics is plenty unless your attacks are also very high endurance usage (and IO slotting can easily get 1-2 SO's worth of EndRed).

The big drain is the Self-Heal and that can also be countered with intelligent IO slotting.

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]
Best slotting I've found is:

Scirocco's D: Acc/Rech
Scirocco's D: Acc/Dmg/EndRed
Multi Strike: Acc/EndRed
Numina's Cnv: Heal/EndRed
Numina's Cnv: EndRed/Rech
Numina's Cnv: Heal/EndRed/Rech
= 74.20% Acc, 21.20% Dam, 121.90% End, 47.0% Heal, 73.78% Rech. Set Bonuses: +22% Regen, 1.88% HP.
Makes it a 49.2% Heal for every enemy in range. Recharges every 17.3 Seconds, costing 17 Endurance.

If you have that heal slotting and "Health" slotted up properly with the +Recovery and +Recovery/Regen IOs, then you'll not need to worry about getting any more +recovery from other set bonuses!

(for Health slotting, see here)

This is probably the build I'd use, I put the minimum required sets and from that you can add any desired sets to gain either more defense or resistance or recharge rate or more likely, +recovery
