Something I've been toying around with. A concept build - SR with no movement power, no elude, no medicine pool. A bit silly, but who cares. Might be just enough for me to stay interested in the character for a bit longer than my usual scrapper attention-span of 12 levels.

The big questions I have are - Are there enough attacks, how does one slot Soul Drain and is there a niftier way to slot the SR toggles than with HOs + extra?

Any extra insight beyond those is nice and appreciated.

I've got Red Fortune in my SR toggles, the set is relatively easy to get and the 5% recharge bonus is very nice.

What he said, a full set of red fortune costs barely anything and it has a nice +recharge bonus for having 5 pieces of the set so you still have space for that runspeed for 6th slot. If you can afford the slots of course.

For slotting soul drain I guess it's 3x rechg and 2x acc but cant give any reliable info as my highest dark melee'er has so far been lvl 7

Just having a look at the slotting makes me think "whoa, that's a heap of inf you need for that"

Don't bother slotting boxing with that 4 aspect enhancement unless you already have it. Damage of boxing is pants, but it doesn't take noticeable endurance and that recharge is really fast, I think just 1 acc IO should do.
All the runspeed bonuses and slots may be uncomfortable when inside a mission, specially the ones in Caves. I'd keep swift with just 1 runspeed enhancement and put the desired set in sprint, saving 3 HO's. In fact, having Quickness, I'd go for Hurdle instead of Swift for far better manouverability. You could use one of those extra slots you'd get from swift in boxing and slot the unique enhancemment that grants 20% chance of disorient (I don't remember the set) that, together with the inherent chance of disorient from bosing would make it far more helpful.

For Dark Consumption and Soul Drain, I am not personally fond of sets in them since their recharge is way too long. I usually slot them with 2 Nucleolus Exposures (Acc/Dmg) and 3 rchg IO's.-

Thanks for the tips...

With sets I'll now be getting a 38 second recharge for soul drain (which has 30 second duration), 8 second downtime to hasten and about 60 second recharge to Dark consumption. Did some toying around with the sets and stuff.

Also, getting a +45% or better defense versus all positions, which should make things a bit more bearable in PvE.

And yeah, it will cost an arm and a leg to get all that stuff

Mmm, looks good, indeed. Coolest thing about sets is that by sacrificing a travel power on an SR you can take it past the 45% soft cap in defense. In my new DM/SR I'm going for the combo Hurdle-Sprint-Combat Jumping as travel power.
The only thing I see is that, with all the +rchg you have by sets, to choose Hasten just for the sake of Soul Drain and Dark Consumption may be a luxury, on my scrapper I'm slotting both with 2 Nucleolus / 3 rchg and the power option you are using for Hasten I'll do with Touch of Fear with 3 Lysosome Exposures on it. I'm also thinking of using Conserve Power instead of Dark Consumption, but not sure yet, might try it on a respec.

Could basically drop one Set IO from ToF and put in a -ToHit without losing all that juicy Recharge buff from the Set.. . will have to update the build with that.

The thing with these builds is cost. Even though it's not fully slotted with the rares of each type, you still looking at a huge wedge of inf or a couple of weeks of very lucky drops.

Maybe it's best to get a build which will work with or without all the sets and then full them up as you go?

The plan is to level this up with some alternative build, collecting rares on the way, then respec into this at 50 and start grinding to get everything in place.

(Also I have some of the more expensive rares already waiting on my main's Auction House storage..)
