Fighting for Kat/Regen

Do I need fighting pool? I've seen some people with it and some without it

Need ? No.

But as you have limitless endurance, it can be nice to have... especially as it gives you 1 def power and 1 res power to slot special IOs in.

Myself, I like assault+tactics better, on a regen ; tiny boosts, but everyone benefits from it, and the fear/confuse resistance and +perception can be handy as there's more mobs using those status effects (including hamidon now) or stealth.

If there's one power that will help Regen a lot it's Divine Avalanche. Slotted with two acc, three def buffs and a recharge, it can give you a really nice defence boost and can help a /regen survive a bit better. I took it at 18 on my Kat/Dark but I really wish I'd taken it sooner as my survivability went up a lot.

The fighting pool is nice but I've never needed it on my regen to be honest. Just avoid taking the alpha strike if you can and you should be fine.

Thanks for the quick replies, I got DA at lvl8 as I knew it was useful, I think I might look into leadership for the +perception buff, my scrapper has 2 respecs anyway

I wouldn't sacrifice the 2 power slots for it. If something can put me in deep trouble despite DA, Reconstruction, Dull Pain, Instant Healing, MoG and Hasten, good luck to them - that's something I'd only expect a Tanker to handle... and few situations reach that level. Losing 2 powers for more survivability isn't my playstyle; I'd rather be hitting things.

I have however taken Resilience, as it's only one power slot and no endurance, and the Toxic resists are a big bonus given the amount of poison Arachnos tosses around. Some people like it for the Stun protection. If I didn't have Resilience, I'd be tempted to take Tough. Resilience is much maligned, but I think it's a decent power.

Having tried them both on Maelwys back when I was levelling him (i6... seems a long time ago now... >.&gt I got far more milage out of Air Superiority than Tough. And I barely used Air Superiority outside of fighting +5s.

That's not to say that Tough isn't nice to have, but /regen can cope with just about anything, between /regen, and DA there shouldn't be a Boss you can't solo (or even an EB... some GMs were doable in i6 with just DA!).
