Can "Aim" be skipped on a TA/Arch Defender?

I have a level 33 Trick Arrow/Archery Defender, who's also running a full set of Fitness and Assault & Tactics from Leadership. Currently I haven't taken Aim from the Archery powers, but am considering respecing it back in.

The problem is that to fit it in, something else has to go or be delayed in picking, and at the moment it's likely to be Tactics.

Is this a fair trade? Is there anything else less useful earlier on that could be skipped? The way the powers are working out on this character the next opportunity to take Tactics will be at level 41, and at the moment I seem to be using everything in a fight, bar Snap Shot, and I can't opt out of that!

I play solo as well as in teams, if that's useful to know.

Any advice appreciated.

The only reason I would pick Aim on a Defender is because of the Nuke. Since your nuke is up quite often (60 secs base recharge IIRC), Aim should be a good choice.

My advice would be dropping Flash Arrow (IMO it's an OK power at low levels, but at your lvl I believe it's easily skippable), pick Aim and pick Stunning Shot at L35.

I'm a firm beleiver in Flash Arrow as a Team Saver at higher levels (for -perception, not -accuracy).

Aim is ok, but you wont need the +accuracy really - not as a Archer running tactics anyway . THe +damage whilst nice, isnt high enough, or up long enough, to really make a whole hill of beans. THe only reason to take it is for the nuke.

Really, comparing tactics and aim for a defender... its a bit of a no contest in my book. Flash Arrow is perversely useful solo... -perception is excellent for stealthing missions. You know about the old click the glowy causing stealth supression so you cant just complete missions without risk (and i think stealthing will be popular in issue 9 due to the rare salvage drops at mission ends)... well, clicking a glowy dosent supress -perception of enemies...

I skipped aim until level 49. I also have tactics and assault and with Archery being accurate anyway i don't think aim is necessary.

Thanks all, that's a big help! Think I'll skip Aim on the respec, and maybe pick it up later if I need a "filler power".

I have to admit that I've never liked Flash Arrow much, and don't have it on my character. I always found the -fly of Grappling Arrow to be more useful than just using Flash Arrow to actively avoid mobs.

Cheers again!

Sometimes my Blazing arrow happens to miss that 50ft in diameter Oilslick and i wish i had Aim!

I went for Aim on my TA/A so that I could slot my nuke 3dam/3rech and my EMP pulse 3hold/3rech.

The damage bonus isn't to be sniffed at either.

I haven't played yet since the new patch though so I have no idea how the new enhancements might affect slotting and whether aim is still worth it.
