Martial Arts/Dark Armour
Would be a brave build to do as Dark end heavy as it is so having MA with it as well, Good Luck..... Be a nice scrapper though if u manged to sort out end problems
Yeah hehe end will definately be a problem. Although, I've been told you don't have to have all the toggles running on DA at the same time and there are ways to equip them for certain situations without all of them being on and sapping your end Oh well if all else fails I will still end up with two very pretty sets lol!
with Dark Armor u wanna try Dark Meele or Claws and they are the 2 powers which cost the least endurence, i would advise dark meele because its -acc effect can be very helpful but dark armour will still drain heavy end
It's now Issue 21 and I am back!

I have a lowbie Claws/DA scrapper, lots of fun to play so far, plan to build him into an AoE machine.
If you want a 1-on-1 type scrapper, MA/Reflexes comes highly recommended. Again, lots of fun to play.
Personally, I'd say if you wanted to go MA/DA then go for it, people are warning you about end issues but that's easy to enhance out of - I'd suggest you go for it and if you don't like it, try again. Took me about a dozen re-rolls with various power sets for me to get the blaster I wanted (had the character idea, but not the right powers), but now I have what I want and it's great.
It's more fun learning how to play your own unique character, and working round any problems with it, than follow someone else's cookie-cutter guide anyhow. In my opinion, of course.
Nice one thanks Doomsy I have the concept and the powers just right now and although he is only lvl 6 at the mo, I know I already love the sets Good to see someone who actually likes to make their own build and follow their own course for once rather than loads of players who create builds and tell you how they should be played Thankies!
I have not played a MA scrapper but I do have a DM/DA scrapper at level 27.
From what I have seen most of the MA attacks are kicks that cause a fair bit of knockback. Given that much of the strengths of DA come from its Aura powers (which need to keep the mobs close by) I really can't see how MA and DA would work well together.
I have no doubt that it could be made to work and I suspect this note may get some responses from players who HAVE made it work but I am betting its a real challenge!
There's only one attack in MA which does knockback (Crane Kick), the rest of them don't.
I stand corrected by FireKitty
I can only guess it must be a very popular attack in the MA set then as I have lost count of the number of times I have been pummelling a mob with my DM/DA Scrapper only to have a MA scrapper come along to assist and knock the mob totally out of my reach.
Mind you, Scrapper Lock being what it is, it could have been anything from a Squiddie to an NRG Blaster to someone with Explosive Arrows causing the knockback the MA folks get the blame as they are closest target.
The probable line of thought would be:
"My bad guys has gone!"
"You hit him last!"
"It must be your fault!"
"How do I petition for griefing again?"
the eye poker + pbaoe stun = stunned everything.
I can see at lot of reasons why MA/DA is a good combo.
Dragons tail does AoE knockback, so it isnt just crane kick. I dont think knockback will be a problem tho. Its not like the debuffs stop instantly once they are out of the pbaoe.
If I had to make another scrapper for PvE (which I prolly wont), I would go MA/DA defo.
A Paragon Defender
I have a couple /DA scrappers and both are fun so far, however I take every decision regarding the build very carefully since I think /DA is the most challenging scrapper powerset. Either Claws/DA is good due to claws being low on end or DM/DA because your Dark Consumption will help on end issues. I am not fond of MA and if you like Dark powers I would recommend you go DM/DA or DM/SR which is also quite challenging and also has Dark powers.
If you are already rolling your MA/DA and for some reason don't find it satisfactory, trust me and give any of these two a go before further judgement, on the other hand, if you have already rolled a MA/DA scrapper and you are having a good time, great, in any case, looking forward to team with you with any of my scrappers
I have a level 32 MA/DA Scrapper, I think it's really good. I don't really notice any end problems, I can usually make about 2 maybe 3 mobs before i need to rest for end. I usually run 4 toggles as well, so it's not that bad, and if you've got a couple of cabs or a kin or emp, you'll be able to romp away with no worries. The only toggle that really munches end is the fear one, I had to respec that out as it's just too end heavy. With the damaging aura it's really helpful when you get surrounded, along with Low Kick, or whatever it's called, pop build up on and you can significantly damage a large amount of the mob. Hope that helps
Ah... every time someone mentions doing a DA build, everyone jumps on it with the endurance problems. As someone playing a BS/DA, really, they're not that bad.
You have to be a bit smart pre-stamina and not run the toggles you don't need, but once you have stamina and slot your shields for endurance reduction, really you'll have no problems.
I know DA used to be immensly endurance intensive, but they reduced it about two issues ago, which may be why people still have the "Oh noes!!1! DA will eat all my end!" reaction
Heya peeps!
I usually play defenders or controllers but I really wanna give scrapping a go for once I have absolutely no idea about what powers and power pools to take etc so I would really appreciate any help any of you can give
I'm thinking of making a MA/DA scrapper mainly because both sets looks very shiny and also because I lurrrrrve dark type powers (yummmmmmm -acc)! Anyhow any builds or tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
