My lvl 42 ninjas/dark has so far been a joy to solo/duo. I often solo or duo with a friend, ninjas are great for this purpose. They got holds, confuse, immobilize, slows. They have a nice bunch of control to mitigate the incoming damage. Their own damage isnt bad either, even though 5 out of the 6 do S/L damage. The last pet does almost only fire damage. I cant say anything bad about the ninjas, only been good so far

For poisons, I never tried this set out so cant give comment on it.

Poison has some excellent debuffs which make those EBs and AVs fall a lot easier.
It does seem to take some time to get going though, so you might have some trouble in keeping your troops alive in the early game.

I like my ninjas, they do need a bit of micro-management though.

Well, generally speaking, there is hardly any advice necessary for soloing with MMs. Just keep your hands off those pathetic blasts (or bow shots in this case ) and concentrate on debuffing the toughest enemies and throwing some heals.
Against EBs I like switching to Masterbrute mode. That is: I set my pets to bodyguard mode, get aggro with debuffs and then procede to pummel the EB with Air Sup and the occasional Sands of Mu while keeping him debuffed and watching my pets´ damage numbers appear over the helpless EB´s head.
One more thing about */poison: Don´t bother to take Poison Trap. It´s completely pants. There are tons of significantly better tools in the set.

If it has
eyes, you can blind it, if it has blood, you can make it bleed, if it has a mouth, you can make it scream.

Does it function significantly differently from the */traps version which has a really good -regen buff, lots of slow, and a hold, not to mention the long vomit animations that I've used to take Bosses out of entire fights, and EBs for the majority? Plus it's AOE so it does the same but more so to the whole mob/minions.

Not played */poison so I really don't know but am intrigued.

Whats the -end like on poisons poison trap?

He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.

The poison trap from */poison and the poison trap from */traps basically have the name in common and that´s it. While the */traps trap is very useful the */poison trap is just a way to waste a power slot.
The */poison trap´s main effect is sleep and our pets really don´t like sleeping enemies, so they immediately proceed to wake them with AoE blasts, ninja caltrops or whatever might apply. The -end drain is somewhere in the vicinity of 20% on a white minion and will not stop a single enemy from doing whatever he wants. And the hold... Let´s just say, it doesn´t happen. That´s closer to the truth than any other description I could give.
So, don´t let the name deceive you. This poison trap is nowhere near as useful as the */traps version.

Ok thats probably the one to miss if ya had to pick one, i dont know if it was anybetter whether the whole set would be overbalanced overall but there is always that one power that you can pass on with little worries.
