Unfortunately I dont get enough consistent playtime and suffer from too much altitis and am too addicted to Goonies coalition channel to be able to form a new SG ^^
If someone would form a new pvp sg I might be able to move captain skyfire over but I wouldnt be much use grinding for prestige ^^. Maybe Unionites could form a new pvp sg on defiant for union pvpers coming over to defiant?

I was thinking of making a SG to collect all the straggling PVPers Italian Posse/furies are the only other SGs Ive met on defiant that regularly seem to PVP.

We can always do Test server. I think the point of the post was to get something going on Defiant . Would be nice, not to have to go to the test server for once.

Vigilance used to be able to field some really good PvP'ers, I really miss those fights on Test.

Yeah I really miss them too. Arena PvP on union is pretty much quiet these days too although zone pvp can be pretty good. A lot of the big supergroups (villain side) have gone freefall or died meaning a lot less opportunities for pvp.
However, one of the reasons I would attribute to less arena pvp is its filled with bloody bugs. What is the point of setting up a massive fight when it kicks you out? Base raids are amazingly even worse and pretty much unplayable.

Yeah but for me base raids are a much easier way of introducing more people to pvp. It is also nice to see the base doing something other then just looking pretty.

Oh, but Pentad is so restrictive.
Try and find 6 people, no more than two of any AT. It's what we're pushing for on Defiant rather than pure Pentad, there's less restrictions on who brings what. Should get more people interested, I hope.
Imo, it will be less encouraging for people, especially if they dont have a set team levelled. A random team of 6 vs. 2 rad/psi (or 1 sonic), an illu/kin and empath and 2 ice/em vs. a randomly assembled team just isn't fair.
It's not as easy to outbuild your opponents in pentad, and requires more teamwork. That said, I'll happily try and get a team together for any format you wish to play.
I'm not sure if the arena night will be going ahead tonight, but I know of atleast 6 people who will be turning up. I think it's meant to be on Union but I'm sure it can be moved over to test if you can get some kind of team together and fancy a few matches tonight before/after/inbetween random fun.

Do you mean that pentad is more encouraging or what? Personally I'm least interested in pentad simply because I suck at it. And I only have one suitable AT basically for high-level pentad and building proper teams from available people and their characters feels more than impossible.. At least from defiant players.
On union I have basically nothing, I dont count my 32 dominator as pvp character yet. So I cant participate on union fight nights.

Pentad should be more encouraging because it is without doubt the fairest format you can play.
Teams of 6 with 2 of each AT just leads to people taking a sonic, rad, empath and kin, with 2 ice/ems which will trounce anything that comes their way. You get to choose only 2 of the support in pentad making things a lot more tactical.

When is it tonight?
As the topic suggests, decent team arena has been lacking as of late. My supergroup, The Paragon Defenders, would like to fight a whole lot more in the arena particularly against teams of heroes, villains or both. We can pull teams of anywhere between two and eight people, plus we can borrow a few members from other SGs and do base raids with 16. We are primarily based on Defiant, although we have the test server installed as well. We also have a few 30-40 characters on Union, although they are not our strongest PvP team.
If you fancy some more team arena fights, drop me a line on @Xanthus or post in this thread and we'll get something sorted!
In other words: Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!
