Min/maxed energy/energy build
What level is he? It'll effect what suggestions i give quite a lot.
Also, does he want a team build, solo build, PvE, PvP?
ahh cheers sorry hes level 35 and wants a build that can be used primarly for teaming but can solo a little bit too.
PvE
I cant find anything particularly wrong about the build. If I give advice it would be against personal playstyles ^^
One end redux for fly maybe. Also maybe one end redux if not two for total focus, it is a costly attack.
Random thoughts:
* Swap Health for Hurdle - the recovery speed doesn't make a lot of difference in combat, and the odds are on a team he'll have someone to heal him up quickly anyway. On the other hand extra mobility from Hurdle can be very handy in and out of combat.
* Nova slotting is a little odd (typo?): 1 Acc, 3 Rechg, 2 Dam. Swap a Rechg for a Dam - bigger bangs = better.
* Similarly putting a Heal in Shocking Bolt's an original move.
* Super Speed + Stealth's OK if he wants to do that sneaky stuff (a bit Defendery/Controllery for my liking ), as an alternative he could swap these for Aid Other + Aid Self or Stimulant + Aid Self. These can be very handy solo or teamed, although he would need to steal a few slots from somewhere else for them to be really useful.
* On which note...Air Sup may be a bit overslotted; it'll never do that much damage (and it's all the highly resisted Smashing) compared to the En attacks - it's main selling point is the soft control from the knockdown, so he could probably lose the Dmg slots there.
* Some way ahead, but IIRC EMP Pulse was rather poor, and I respecced it out. A novelty power like Resuscitate could be put in here.
Right, my turn
Power Thrust is great if slotted for KB, Rag doll really helps to make KB a soft control.
Energy Punch : Hate.
BU:Aim could use a ToHit for added umph.
With running Hasten, you really shouldn't need extra recharges so I'd swap with a 2nd Acc.
Fly could do with an Endrec.
Health 3 slotted is useful for getting back on your feet, but will hurt Defiance. If you're in melee, I'd 3 slot.
Extra Run for SuperSpeed to hit cap.
Nova has been ganked so don't bother with Recharges; better option would be 2 Acc, 3 Dam, 1 KB.
Snipes missing (1 Acc, I Intred, 3 Damage, 1 endrec : Great power with Boost range)
TF add in Disorient Boost.
Sprint should take an Endrec or two.
Shocking Bolt Heal? Assume that's Hold.
Rest of it is fine
I have to say I don't see the point in slotting power thrust for KB and total focus for stun.. Those aspects are quite good enough as is and slots could be of better use elsewhere.. Uless you really want to hit lvl 1 skulls from one end of atlas to the other.. If you want more from those aspects, you have power boost already..
Ok, my turn
Id drop Power Bolt, with all your other powers you've got a full chain, and the upcoming range increase of Burst, its really a poor power imo.
Take Hasten at 6, and Power Boost instead at 26. Powerboost would double duration of the disorient in your melee's and increase KB distance, and if you follow Standoff's advice, itd double the heal of the medicine pool, and double your run/fly speed.
Pretty much meaning this power will save you a ton of slots, as you wont need to slot as much for runspeed/stun duration/kb distance etc etc.
It'll double the ToHit buffs from BU and Aim aswell, meaning only a mathematical gift of the gods would mean you miss more than one person with your Nova.
Leading me nicely to slotting. As Stand said, definately get 3xDmg in Nova, and with Aim&BU, you could slot 3xRech.
I could write a whole paragraph on the usefulness of Power Push (from the primary, ST kb.). Its a beauty of a power, maybe try it on Test.
I run my Nrg/Nrg without Stamina, but i agree its not for everyone. Those 3 extra powers ARE fun though

Since Ragdoll, KB has a 'feature' where Knocked Back opponents can be pushed so they can't fire back; it's very useful when fighting in multi-level/garbage filled areas.
Total Focus is often used, by me at least, as a low endurance move, so the extra disorient gives me a chance to grab a blue before hitting back. Power Boost helps both of these out.

Yeah, and that happens also without slotting thrust for KB.. The extra distance is imo pretty pointless. Slotting doesnt increase KB magnitude..

Hmm yeah, but if you need a big stun you could just use power boost to double the disorient duration, and slot 1 end redux to it instead.. Iirc total focus' end cost is about 20 points, ie 1/5th of the end bar..
PS. Power bolt is imo underrated attack and is one power that Im currently missing in my current PvP build. Im planning to drop nova to get power bolt back.. Make of that what you will. Although the power burst change might change my ranged attack ability considerably..

Did some stats on this a while ago and Energy Torrent out performs Power Bolt for DPS. End cost is higher but that's easily overcome with conserve power and an end redx.
Also very nice for laying waste to low level mobs for getting any badges missed.

Hi all, got a low lvl en/en blaster on the go and really having fun with him so far. Still new to blasting though and always trying to learn as much as possible about my powersets. Some of the things mentioned above have raised some questions in my mind:

So far I love this move, especially when im in close: BU + Bone Smasher + Energy Punch = carnage! Not looking to debate with you but am certainly interested in why you dislike that power so much. Is it just a personal thing, or have I perhaps overlooked something here?

My blaster is at lvl13 and having serious problems with endurance. Granted, I've yet to buy DOs and slot End Rdx in my attacks, but I was thinking of Stamina at some point. I'd be interested to hear more about your build and your playstyle, and how you can manage without Stamina, in hope I might be able to improve my own.

this build was made by a friend who is thinking of coming back to the game. He made his eng/eng blaster before ED and really hated him afterwards so is trying to make him good again
