I have been training my fire energy tank lately and think its possibly the most fun tanker build i have tried. Fire SS was fun too but i felt this build was worth noting the most. I have tried to balance between pvp and team play.

Blazing aura :3 dmg 2 taunt
Fire shield: 3 def
Plasma Shield: 3 def
Consume: 1 end enh 2 dmg 1 acc
Healing flames: 3 heal 3 rech
Barrage: 2 dmg 1 acc
Bone Smasher: 2 dmg 1 acc
Whirling hands: 3 dmg 2 acc 1 rech
Taunt: 1 taunt
Boxing: no slot
Tough: 2 def
Combt jump
Super Jump: 1 jump
Acrobatics: 2 end
Swift
Health: 3 health
Stamina: 3 end enh

This toon is only lvl 30 at the moment, but to be honest from all my previous builds i have to say although it may be a little bit squishier then stone tanks my level, it can easily keep up with most. and healing flames takes about 20 seconds to recharge and fills half my hp back up should i be dealing with a mob thats a little too tough. and its fun to use.

Final note: the endurance drain on this baby is very low even at low levels when compared to that of stone and ice.

my own at low levels. what i meant was. compared to other tanks i have had, the endurance drain is more bearable at low levels. i know its all about slotting and fitness pools and so on. Im refering to the bog standard, not high enough a level to have said slots and pools.

2 things id say:

Blazing aura :3 dmg 2 taunt

This can miss but mostly its bad for firetanks that lack in aoe because the aoe in the secondary attacks can sometimes help compensate and if not then the secondary power taunt does. Damage stacks with taunt in aggro value but it wont if it misses and if it misses there will be no taunt so acc is very important when there is storm shamans, spectral daemons, nerva spectral daemons, force field generators, nemesis with vengeance, tsoo sorcerors to name a few, sets in your team or teams that -def enemy or +acc you could compensate for you. Foes remember damage well so even without the taunt component the aura id imagine would be good in the FTs case. My BA 'could' end up being 3 acc 3 dam 'depending' on my other power choices, survivability, enemy usually faced and the teams i am usually on.

Consume: 1 end enh 2 dmg 1 acc

This does do alot for damage and considering the endurance buff you can gain from it recharges would be better, recharge is often equal to a damage buff in terms of damage over time but in this case imo recharges are far superior.

i am sure you meant res and not def in all armours.

I'm running a 35 fire/nrg, but all i can say is add a massive ammount of EndReds in basicly any power. Specialy when you have all toggles going you can run out of endurance extremely fast, Consume wont cut the cake (i would add a acc with Costume, its not a auto hit).

I have 1 EndRed in fire/plasma, 2 in Blazing aura (1 taunt, 1 dmg and 2 acc), 2 in tough, 2 in Acro and i dont have Weave :P My final goal will be 2 EndReds in fire/plasma.

The base recharge of healing flame currently still is 60 seconds, so it might be abit longer. Good thing, they will be lowering it to 40 seconds soon

Once you get ET/TF, you should have your taunt slotted for recharge/taunt, so you can focus single target and let BA&rest of the team do the rest.

I've got a level 28 Fire/Energy and I must say I've had a lot of fun with this.

I'm a bit annoyed as I respecked last night out of frustration (I was using Perma-Fly instead of getting SJ + Acrobatics like everyone else...it worked ok at first until I started hitting -FLY bad guys and just TOO much KB from villains) and slightly gimped my build.

I currently have:

Blazing Aura
Healing Flames
Temperature Protection
Plasma Shield
Consume

Barrage
Bonesmasher
Taunt
Whirling Hands

Acrobatic Strike
Super Jump
Acrobatics

Swift
Health
Stamina

In hindsight, I now realise I can drop Temperature Protection.

I intend to get Boxing and Tough for level 32.

Just a couple of questions:

1. Is it worth taking Fiery Embrace and Build Up so I can take advantage of using Whirling Hands (6 slot: 2 +ACC, 2 +DMG and 2 +RCHARG) and Blazing Aura for good AoE damage?

2. Has anyone tried using Mass Fear from Presence pool and Burn?

After a respec, I am looking at:

06) --> Acrobatic Strike (i like the extra attack for my attack chain)

No idea what to do for Epics. Will take a gander when I get to that level

the fiery aura secondary gets like another build up called "fiery embrace" it boosts fire damage for 20 seconds and any other damage for 10 i think.

Yup that's right Oozy. Get Fiery Embrace as soon as poss, that and Build Up is awesome. As for epics if its for PvE I'd say Fire and for PvP I'd say Energy

You mean Jump kick? I still would suggest combat jump, as fire tankers have no (or so far i notice very little) immobilize protection.

Mine is 36 atm, i used to have Fiery Embrace. I dropped it because of the longer recharge it has (double as BU) and i wanted to be 'tanker' once more. Maybe at the epic lvls i get it again, but i tend to go AS/RoF & Burn instead. U can drop bonesmasher to rely bit more TF/ET or drop whirling and rely on the Blazing Aura (cant remember if BA was 20sec boosted by Fiery though, neither burn even if it became boostable again).
