If you see the link I have given, it says that 'Raptor' is another term for a 'bird of prey'.

AFAIK raptor for a bird of prey has been about for a long time before the bones of the velociraptor dinosaur was discovered. Yeah - They are velociraptors. Not sure if raptor was a common abbreviation of the name before Jurassic Park, or if it was shortened for the film so that dialogue flowed easier.
Given that birds are often held to be closely related to dinosaurs, finding the skeleton of what appeared to be a fast hunter may have lead to velociraptor as a fairly obvious name.
The F22A stealthfighter is also called Raptor - again fairly obvious name for a fighter jet.

aahhh, right, velociraptor was what i was thinking of i watched jurrasic park just a few days ago thats why i got all confused

Some trivia for you. The dinosaurs shown in Jurassic Park were actually modeled on Deinonychus. Velociraptors were much smaller, about the size of a turkey.

I'm just testing the water with this idea of mine, which is to make a supergroup called The Raptors. It consists entirely of heroes based on predatorial birds such as Buzzards, Hawks, Falcons, Kites and the rest of them.
It is a group that like to team with other well designed heroes which all have the raptor theme in common. Roleplayers, casual roleplayers and non- roleplayers are welcome.
The supergroup isn't created yet, but it will come depending on the amount of interest this idea receives.
