AR/Dev in PvP
The drone is useful for spotting stalkers, yes, especially if you can afford to run tactics too, or drag someone else about that is.
I know of one nasty /Dev who drags an Empath around with her everywhere. Flight + Stealth + TD + Clear Mind and suddenly the stalkers are the ones being stalked.
I had a /Dev for a while, designed specifically as a stalker hunter and to be honest, the most useful trick I ended up with was dropping caltrops in water where they can't be seen and standing on them.
Any hidden foe sneaking up to AS me is suddenly revealed and hops about holding their feet while you and your friends, umm, kill them.

target drone : 3tohit/3endrdx
tactics : 3tohit/3endrdx
assault : 3endrdx
cloak : 3endrdx
flight : 3endrdx/3fly
stamina : 3endmod
caltrops : 2-3recharge (if spare anything u like)
web nade : 2-3acc/1-2immo
AND if u got room after all taht
tp foe : 2acc/2range (play with more if u got room)
mines : 2recharge/2acc/2dmg
if no flight and got SS, ahsten 3 slotted + those above will amke it nice and fast reloading
attacks 2acc/3dmg should be enough
get beanbag, r0xx :P
etc
Some random musings:
I have to add that against some enemies, Smoke Grenade is an excellent addition (2xACC) from Devices - even if it doesn't drop the ToHit like it used to, the -Perception will let a ranged character work a bit better.
AR/Dev combo's biggest problem is the lack of Aim/Build Up for increased burst damage (in PvP burst damage is the king) - while you can hinder a lot of people from using their Aid Self with the DoT attacks you have (Caltrops + Web Grenade + Ignite will keep quite many enemies from Aid Selfing), there are still many ATs out there that don't have to rely on that for self-healing. And every time they self-heal, you're one step away from victory.
Stalkers are the prime prey for you, corruptors and dominators if you're up for dangerous game hunting. Brutes might be a bit hard for you as you hit a brick wall at high levels of defense and a lot of your attacks are S/L which is easilly resisted. If you want to get masterminds, you have it easier than most others (Archery is better than you in this, sorry) - your "nuke" doesn't drain you of all your endurance, allowing you to keep on killing even after you've fired it at those pets in Bodyguard mode.

If you really want to go that route, yes

In addition to the caltrops in the water, planting mines in the water is easier to hide against those characters that have perception powers to see them. Also, mines will only go off if you see foes on them, if you are half way across the map, they wont detonate.
Mines in general are fun in pvp, can take out pretty much every AT

Not quite so simple but brutes are less hardy than they think normally.
My first toon when i started playing a while back was an AR/Dev blaster and thou I`ve been trying to come up with different working builds ( and often failing, yes chels ^^), dont forget to try out different powers and and see how you like them.
Should you have a respec available, copy the toon over to the Test server and try out a build or two.
One power i must promote is teleport. tp foe + mine is very effective, slotting the tp foe for both ACC and range and as Tyl said when it comes to slotting the mines.
I would recommend gettin teleport self if you cant fit it in the build cause it gives you battle field mobility.
Both in PvE and PvP I´ve found that its not always a bad idea for a Blaster to be able to get out of trouble faster then you got yourself into trouble.
Telemining rather changes the tactics around though - rather than working a mobile hunter, you need to find a safe place, cloak up as much as you can, build a nice patch of mines and wait. Remember to put (a) caltrops and (b) yourself in the mine patch as a guard against Stalkers.
Is it time for the dance of joy yet?

It works well in dumpsters although staying in one place too long can be a bad thing

True - also try behind low walls, on fire escapes, dark back alleys, anywhere your enemy wouldn't normally expect to find you. Get familiar with the whole of the zone, find the avenues and gathering points your prey use, and exploit them. And like you said, don't overuse your lurk points

I like 10HP flying bountys on my stalker, fly towards, placate, BU et nice bounty ty :P
defiance sniping and telemining are THE 2 most commonest methods on ar/dev of hunting. telemining, beware of trying that with a rooted stone brute, they quite likely to survive and turn round and start hitting you...
and flying defiane sniping... erm.. might work, then again you might run into the flying stalker with phase that decides your tasty
also an immobed squishy is a very dead squishy, probley why mine has leaping pool. diff peeps diff playstyles.
but def get tactics and TD, against stalekrs running stealth and hide it helps like crazy (always carry acc insps and BF though.... acc insps also boosts your percept, so at least you got a chance of hitting caltrops fast enough to stop the stalker running hide&invis from ASing you.
tyl your a squibb :P
Hi there.
I'm slowly being lured into PvP (I'm on the slippery slope now....) so I'm curious whether I'd be able to take my AR/Dev Blaster into PvP zones and do ok. I know that AR/Dev is a bit underpowered compared to other sets so I'm curious to know whether it can hold its own out there. I've read that the drone is useful for spotting stalkers, are there any other powers that would be useful?
Advice, tips and recommendations for a complete PvP newbie would be most welcomed.
Thanks.
