Found this on US threads, good info and ideas, though I dont agree with the cage part and think Impale needs to be looked at but overall it is a good post.

Most people that have reviewed COH/COV say that it is fairly balanced. You can have the devs run around nurfing things for ever but you will never gain balance. It is impossible in this type of game.

Balance to most people is that there build is ubber against everything and never dies. Some build are better in PvE than PvP others are more effective in both.

I have a Scrapper and he gets killed lots of times against stalkers, against Brutes hes an even match. My controller on the other hand holds stalkers for breakfast.

All im saying is that some builds are good against others unless we all have the same powers it will never be balanced and nobody wants to be a clone either.

PvP is not ballanced in the slightest.

If by balanced then you mean everything is equal then no, it isnt.

Cant see it ever being truly ballanced as PVE was here way before PVP was implemented.

See I dont think it should be balanced, I like the idea that a fully charged brute can drop into a group of squishies and destroy them, or that a buffer/debuffer can render a target useless or godlike.

Perhaps I should clarify that I dont think the game should be balanced towarsd individuals.
..

I expect to be perma held unless I have loads of purples, just as I expect to perma hold targets unless they have purples/protections.

In the end as long as a target can be taken down with team work then the game is fine

Yep before it was even released. I like PvP the way it is, just add new powersets that aren't rubbish or too over powered.

Definately not. It never could. Unless they removed all powers apart from Brawl.

It would still be unbalanced cause tanks had biggest lifebars. It would require the removal of most ATs.

....... why don't we go do something more productive?

They're not balanced, but I do agree with the US guy-s statement on there in saying that the ATs need more definition both Hero and Villain side. And to try and take fights away from the Burst damage strategy.

It's tricky though!

Post like this [censored] me off. This is such a generally sweeping comment that it can only result in a power being nerfed all the way into oblivion. DEFENDER cages can be perma'd. Not controller ones. Please consider that this should only be looked at on the defender AT. On a troller a caging power only last for about 10 seconds and the recharge is about 25-30 seconds. Also, removing the acc bonus will do absolutely nothing, since a lot of Defenders will get aim to compensate for this, if they don't already have it.
