RV Heroes
Yeah, of course theres an in-character reason to controlling the zone, but I was referring to actual rewards since thats what the grinders are usually after
Bonus Prestige, Temp Summon Power. I so want to arrange a session and get that summon power actually - a mini-heavy would be nice!
The pet temp power from RV is great. Also after winning the zone any enemies you take out results in large amounts of inf and Prestige. When there are alot of ppl in the zone its very easy and fast inf/prestige depending on sg mode, capturing all the pillboxes is advantageous.
Whats this pet temp power all about. I have won the zone many times and killed all the RV Heroes (in one session) on two alts and I have never recieved a temp pet power.
EDIT:-Agh the ever helpful paragon wiki revealed the answer
In Recluse's Victory, have 1,000 points on the zone point counter when the zone resets. There is conflicting information about whether the Villain side must be the one to win the zone as well
From RV Tactics Guide...

Once a side has captured six pillboxes and wins the round, a five-minute timer starts. This is hunting time.
Winners: you get double temporal points for each enemy slain. Now is the time to bring that up to 1000, which will gain you a temp power Robot when the game resets.
Losers: the battle is lost but not the war—you have the ability to reset the clock and position yourself for the next battle.
Killing 100 things (enemy, critters, and turrets) not only gets you straight up temporal points values, but also resets the clock. Remember, if you have 1000 points when the temporal reversion happens, you too get a temp power Robot

In this case I see it means not resetting the zone just for the hell of it when people are AV hunting.

But it's not just for the hell of it. Maybe they were competing for control of the zone (as the developers intended when they made the zone), or maybe they were there for the increased prestige you get during the reset.
Whether you like it or not, the aim of the zone is win control for your side. You can't complain if people do just that.

However, bear in mind that quite often the person that resets the zone IS ON THE SAME SIDE as the AV hunters, thus they aren't really competing with the other side to win, they're not so much competing as ruining people's fun for their own benefit. After all, they can a) kill the AV with the rest of the heros and b) still claim the zone once the AV's down.
If it's the other side that resets the zone, well that gets a bit more vauge. On the one hand they're just using the zone as intended, on the other you can argue that if they've managed to steal the zone back from the point of AV spawn, then the chances are they can wait 5-10 minutes and take control anyway because clearly the other side doesn't give a monkeys about "winning"

Why would you want to control the zone anyway? If im not mistaken theres few rewards for it..

To 'win' the mini-game. Or for the increased Prestige.
I'm not sure. I hardly ever go into RV tbh, and when I go to PvP zones it's mostly to PvP, not take part in the zone 'events'.
