december 14th last year there was a sirens call event, lot of fun. just wondering if it's going to be repeated again this year? maybe be done in a different zone etc?

Email Bridger directly, begging him to do one. Other than that, large PvP events in zones are organised by players.

In that case.. let's have one organised!!

I hope not, it was a pointless server lag fest and I hate to think how many people got debted. I resorted to defiance sniping MMs just to punish them for causing more than their fair share of lag.

However a weekend long lvl 50 RV test server event would be a good thing. Akin to the RV test event previously, enabling you to try out some ATs, builds and have a ton of pvp again.

Dear god please no. Not only was the lag nigh unbearable, but the event was a shambles as well. Why? Well the majority of players have both CoH and CoV, and the majority of them had higher-level heroes than villains. As soon as it looked like the villains were loosing, everyone just went to get their heroes instead, and it became ridiculously one-sided. Add to that that Siren's Call couldn't handle the amount of players at once and had to be split into three, that neither Bridger nor The Other One (can't remember his name) were doing much to rally the troops and keep things moving (sorry Bridgey, but it's teh truth) and you get a real mess of an event.

And try to imagine what a Recluse's Victory party would look like. How many more level 50 heroes are there than villains? Got to be at least twice as many. I know the signature heroes/villains help to even things out, but I doubt it'd be nearly enough.

It's a shame, 'cos I dearly want to see more action in RV; no-one's EVER there. Perhaps it'd be better for smaller-scale player-organised events than have Bridger shout out to everyone registered on CoX.

The lag did get quite bad for a lot of people and there's not much in the way this could be helped, I was lucky in that mine was tolerable.

Now it would be more varied with a year on villains, players have more heroes AND villains to choose from.

It was instanced into 3-4 areas, bad in that maybe you couldn't team with your mate but good in that there was the opportunity to hop into 3 as the villains outnumbered the heroes (well to start with anyway!).

They did try over Broadcast both before the event and during, but due to the high volume of eager players, some of them spamming, people not reading and the instancing, Bridger and Rockjaw's work was considerably cut out. Despite trying to organise battles for the hotspots, let's face it, people just wanna scrap with the enemy!
Broadcast (or a silenced leader led channel etc...) is pretty much the only way to convey discussion and planning. There were loads of players that just wanted to trash talk the villains and vice versa and why not, it's fun! Any other ideas on how to organise a mob, I'm sure they'd be grateful.

Part of this comes down us the players; I've seen some you lot in PvP and seen other players trade sides when its dull due being on the outnumbering side. I myself like to go to the underdog side and see if victory can be pulled out of the hat! This doesn't always happen but it's good to see when it does.

Both do. And the events are for the most part, great fun.

To summarise, these events are good fun and have good turn outs, the best one to date was the RV event on test.

Glasses up for more of these events from anyone willing to organise it!

I'll soon have a villain old enough to get in, and I know another player who's been poking around there. On top of that, we play dominators

Didn't Kitetsu organise another Sirens Call event earlier this year? I remember trying to join one and I only started playing 19th Dec last year. Had the same lag problems, plus all the issues with MM pets having a mind of their own due to a bug.

Kitetsu organised a Hotspot thing early in June, an then I organised heroes to counter them. Wasn't as good as it could have been because the villains were doing hotspots and only the odd one or two were running around getting ganked on their own. Too much debt to be had when your trying to fight NPCs and players at the same time.
