Elec/NRG build?

Now this is only my second Blaster ever, so go easy on me.

Anything I should avoid like the plague? Anything I must take for certain? She's only level 4 at the moment, but I'm having fun so far!

Really just general advice, no real preference for travel power, and do I really need Stamina, or is the 'some end may be transfered back to you' bit enough to keep me running if I slot correctly?

You'll need stamina asap and the trademark of an elec/energy is the short circuit - power boost combo combined with stealth or superspeed PvE can become very easy

Apart from that if you take most of your primary and secondary you cant go wrong really from a pve perspective.

Aid self is also awesome when combined with power boost but its a tight build so you'll have to make some hard choices especially if you intend to pvp.

Pretty much going to be PvE only so i'll take everything, take SS as my travel power, slot hurdle on the way to Stamina and not really go for anything else?

Ok for what its worth this is my own current build plan for my Elec/Nrg/Elec Blaster. Couple of points: This one is intended to end up as a PvP blapper but should do fairly well in PvE. As a PvP its obviously strong in its single target focus and is a current idea, most of my builds change over time and with advice.

I am definately no expert but anyways hope it helps a little at least.

On the subject of travel powers, I tend not to take SS as a PvE travel as I find it lacks vertical movement even with hurdle, but thats very much personal taste.

[/ QUOTE ]Just ram him in the box why don't you!? You can't survive on the return of the elec priamary, but if you plan to PvE only then you can throw the odd endred in and (ZOMG) keep an end buffer near you (i did it for 50 levels, it's possible).

Hasten will help massivlely with short circuit, power boost, aid seld and conserve power on the utility side, although you could cope without it in teams.

Travel wise I'd tend towards 3 slotted hover with air superiority and tp over SS (SS is fast but poo). SJ is the most versatile imo, acro is there if needed.

Comments about SS/stealth for drain tactics sound outdated to me Phil, have you played this tactic since the last 3 million changes? you can't one shot end, you can't really stealth that well any more (i never actually played this way, I was more blunt )

I'd make sure to take 2 blasts and an AoE + short circuit and power boost and conserve power other than that make your own decisions Oh, other than that you'll want aim and BU 3 slotted well pre 20

What about this? SLotting can be tweaked but I've got the overall idea.

Few hopefully helpful comments/ideas for you,

Energy Punch: I would drop this tbh as you can take Build Up instead at 4 and fit Bonesmasher in at 10, but since you are from the OP already 4 and have taken it I would be inclined to take Bonesmasher over Zapp at 12 as at 17 I am finding Bonesmasher a fantastic tool for Lt/Boss management.

Conserve Power: Since you have stamina on the build I think you can drop this or at least hold off till later as with good end management you should be fine without. I would take one of: Short Circuit, Tesla Cage or Ball Lightning in its place myself. Which one depends on if you are soloing a lot (like me) in which case Tesla Cage (a hold can be handy) or teaming in which case the AoE of Ball Lightning might be better, in either case you cant really go wrong with SC as the end drain is really handy at times and its recharge is pretty good so you may be able to fire it off a couple of times and get a very strong effect, I know I have on the few teams I have been on but to be fair I have Hasten which may be the edge, not sure.

Travel Powers: Plights suggestion of Air Sup (very handy for blappers at times) Hover and Teleport is a good setup if you can fit it in I was just lazy and went SJ/SS

Just a couple of ideas anyway all just imo as ever. Really hope its helpful.

Cheers,

White

Just tested this against lvl 51 freaks, I powerboosted then superspeeded into a mob of 3 short circuited although it didnt completely drain their end they very rarely got an attack off (it may be different against freaks as their end runs out just attacking though )

[/ QUOTE ]I didn't say it didnt work, but I could happily do the same with sprint and short circuit. SJ will do you better imo.

Regarding ball lightning and tesla cage; wiise wods for the soloers hold, although for a ranged blaster teaming 6 slotted AoEs are almost mandatory. I want people to be unique, but if you have a specific playstyle/role brief, I could write a list of powers and slottings that would be 'optimal'. I'm a melee blaster with ranged pets and AoEs, sounds bonkers, but I know why I have them .

for pve I would go elec/elec personally, its got great damage and control and I was tanking on mine on the sister psyche TF when the tank DCd (7 man team after tank dcd) There is nothing wrong with EM at all but the elec synergy is not to be underestimated, you can also end drain a GM in less than a minute and keep him there too.
