...Nah, we sjut throw any old thing together and make do...

i kid, i kid! as far as i can tell, lots of people love buildingthe charaterisation for the toons, and the perfect costume, me included.

Hideously.

I once spent a costume token because Ms. Paragon's hair was the wrong shade of orange and it bugged me.

Colour is the bane of Icon.

I forgot to change the colour on Solars flames once so they were completely out of sinc with his costume i made.

Not at first, but if I start to write my description I usualy can't stop and write epic backgrounds, then I get bugged when I run out of space, because usualy i've thought of a lot more to type.

With costumes they have to be perfect, I can't stop till i've found I have the right costume for that character. They don't realy link to my story but they have to be right Plus I think that's probably the most important to thing to have the right costume.

Yes... damn those colours. I changed 2 or 3 costumes and ended up using 5 tokens.

I'm totally obsessive about it much to my gf's chagrin. I often ask her opinion on yet ANOTHER costume for yet ANOTHER character idea. I recently scrapped a toon idea I had purely because I couldn't get the look right :/ Most recently I heavily modified my "Once were Soviet" clawed scrapper because I couldn't settle on a look that said "Russian meta" without looking cliched. So I've reused an old toon name (Blackdog) and I'm currently perfecting his costume.

There's a saying that says that all the stories of the world have been told and all the ideas used. Although I certainly try to be original when creating a new character, there will inevitably elements of other things in there. Just looking down my list of alts I can see bits from Highlander, The Hulk, Frankenstein, Buffy, Dr Strange... the list goes on. I find that although that can really bug people, the real creativity comes playing them rather than from the background. For example, if I received inf for every tortured vampire I saw about, I'd be a rich man. It's always nice to bump into the happy undead during roleplay.

Likewise when I play my robot character, I don't want to do the emotionless droid or the pinocchio stereotype. Even if your character is not 100% original, the way you play them certainly can be. Good luck.

Grrrrr.. h8 perky undead.

Not quite as much as 'never grew up' or 'I'm mad, look at my bunny' undead, but still...
