Stalkers and Scrappers are they taking over?

Can I not be a skilled pvper with this set? A valued team member, respected one. I dunno. I dont want to give up what I enjoy but at the same time I hate being lumped into that majority who took it for an easy ride.

Play what you want, eventually something else will be the new "FOTM", it's just a matter of time. People's perspectives and tactics change. There have been many builds/powersets that have been considered FOTM. Broadsword/Regen used to be top PVP FOTM, then Spines/Regen and now people are already discovering Spines/SR etc.. I'd just keeps going on like this. Eventually Dark/Dark will be considered teh uber... no really . The same goes for every AT.

Consider this though, when Stalkers first came out, everyone started building their toons toward defeating them, so being "FOTM" is not necessarily easy mode gameplay wise. Eventually there will be a lot of toons specializing in taking out a particular "FOTM" build, so while currently Spines/Regen may seem uber, once people learn how to defeat them, they will be considered weak and the next "FOTM" will be considered uber.

In this case you can't have been working as a team. In warburg a team of 2 blasters and 3 defenders(empath, kinetic, force field) can take on just about anything. - Kronos

Yeah but the you are basing this on WARBURG, where you have all your powers. My corruptor does better there as I have my debuffs too. And we were working as a team.

Mmm...shiver, frozen touch and frozen aura. They make a helluva big difference. Apart from a nuke on a blaster, there's not a great deal of difference between 30 and 38.(Total focus aside)
And, as Scrappers/Stalkers etc have 'all' of their powers, the scaling is the same. In fact it makes it more difficult especially with some of the tier 9 melee AT powers.

Sorry Stalk but I disagree.
Maybe on Union they are mainly stalkers, I wouldnt know, but on Defiant, I dont often see stalkers now.

On Defiant the figures are the other way around, hardly any stakers and mainly scrappers on the hero side of late.

Union is definitely stalker heavy.

Of course, play what you like!

And be especially mindful not to listen those 12 year olds moaning in the pvp zones.. thems losers talking If they'd be beaten by emp/archery defender it would be flavor of the month.

Hero side has a lot more varoty than villain side, every jokers got a stalker and if im honest I have played the AT to death and they no longer interest me, theres nothing more to be done with them.

A telling difference between good stalkers and the many many wannabees who claim pvp godhood is simply who stays the moment an empath comes into the zone, 70% of the stalkers in SC will clear out in the 1st 5 mins. A stalker which relies on purely hide+stealth and AS isnt much of a pvper imo.

In the last few days there seems to be a tank renaissance in SC as they have outnumbered all other alts and there havent been many scrappers on at all.

It all comes down to the fact that we see varied ATs on the hero side far more than the villain side which is nigh on always 80% stalkers

I got bored of my stalker, it was fun for a while I liked going after defenders mostly as they seemed to be the toughest targets for me to take down (they usualy have companions, and all kind of wibbly defender stuff leaking out of them :P).

But then I think part of my boredom was that a lot of teams dont work well with stalkers, and often have little patience for stalker tactics unless its a team of stalkers

Hell just getting a team to use its brain can be tricky :P

defiant has way more variaty then union in sirens...period

I agree with the small cold one. PvPers on Union in general seem to have late bloomers and a distinct lack of good Sirens builds, aside from Stalkers which on a good day are easy as pie to get kills with (which in all fairness to the Hidey people, is becoming rarer) and the melee ATs who find it easier to stay alive longer than their enemy. This is the way of the Dog-Eat-Globe way of the (in my opinion) more competetive Union and has been for a while.

Defiant seems to be alot more casual in that anyone and everyone seems to pop in on Sirens every now and again, bringing the toon that they were PvEing with at the time, allowing for alot more balanced, albeit Pick Up, teams.

Obviously this is not to say that Union never has balanced teams on CoH or CoV but that is the simple way I see it, and the differences between the servers probably aren't as great as this post makes out.

During my visits to Unions sirens call I noticed to my amusement the similarity of hero characters.. First time I was there, there were lots of tanks about .. Next time it was scrappers.. hehe Compared to that sure defiant seems to have more variety on a first glance. Although we have had bouts of scrappermania too.
