BS = better damage but slower to recharge, Katana = shorter animations and faster recharge
I love my BS/SR but SR does ahve quickness which speeds up BSs attack rate.
Slotted parry/divine avalance double stacked and properly slotted gives you a further 48%ish def boost Vs melee attacks

Katana has faster animations, lower endurance cost and lower damage.
Broadsword has slower animations, higher endurance cost (very high end cost) and much higher damage.
Both sets have the same DPS iirc, but broadsword has the higher burst damage.
I'd personally go katana over broadsword if i was invul secondary, broadsword endurance management with invul toggles is quite nasty. Katana also has hella cool animations :P
Hero builder gives 3slotted parry as 23.4% Which sounds kind of right, although i don't trust hero builder numbers.
For unyielding there is a 5% defence penalty which is countered by tough hide. Unyielding is a resistance power. Invul itself is a resistance based set, it also gains defence through the powers invincibility and tough hide. Invincibility scales with mob size and gives defence to all but psionic so is typed defence, as is tough hide which is passive.
BS/Invuln=END HOG, and I should know! You'll be needing end redux in ALL your toggles AND every attack. That's with 3 slotted stamina and I still looked forward to the day I got Conserve power, which is also 3 slotted for recharge! Invuln is fab though, although the auto resistances have debatavle worth.

Ive been thinking about trying out a scrapper, wanted spines regen for concept reasons for quite a while but i got so bored of seeing them in RV i couldnt bring my self to do it.
I think i have decided on Katana or Broad Swoad/Invulnerabilty, just have a few questions
I will have 23% melee defence and 10.9% typed defence (with unyeiding) just wanted to check that the incoming attacks would use the higest defence e.g all melee atacks against my 23% and all ranged agaist the 10.9%.
my second question is are Katana and broadsword very different? they seem to have very simmilar attacks even down to the secondary effect? Im leaning towards broad sword as its got the look i want, and ive heard good things about head splitter.
Any Input would be greatly appreciated.
