Weapon Mastery: How good?
Body Mastery.. if you like being boring.
Weapon Mastery has to make you redraw.
On my SR I took weapons mastery mainly for the web grenade for pvp and the fact I dont have enough endurance for Focused accuracy The surieken look cool but I havent really tested out the damage.

According to Nofuture.org.uk (which uses normalised damage scalar figures instead of brawl index values) the damage of Exploding Shuriken is comparable with the damage of Strike, Spin and Shockwave. Shuriken is halfway between Swipe and Strike in terms of damage.

Actually, I've worked out that by taking FA and 3-slotting it with End Reducers I can take an Acc out of my attacks and replace it with an EndRdx and use less end per attack chain.

This is very handy, thanks. Based on these numbers I'm quite willing to give Weapons a try. Hitting with Exploding Shuriken followed by Shockwave before I even reach melee range sounds very tempting.

wouldn't that kinda defeat the point of getting FA, mainly getting [censored] high accuracy? Personally, I find Body Mastery to be boring, so I'm going with Weapon Mastery as well.
weapon mastery is awesome, don't know why more non spines scrappers don't go weapon. Weapon mastery gives you more utility.

With slotted FA and 1xAcc in my attacks I will have higher acc than with just 2xAcc.

And Darkness Mastery gives you a non-Lethal (and ranged) damage type, which is useful for everyone who isn't Dark Melee.

Dark Mastery has better utility.
Consider weapon: Targetted AoE slow, and single immob. Then ranged lethal damage.
And Dark: Acc debuff, knockback, hold, AoE immob, and ranged neg damage.
Depending on the mags of the hold and immob from dark, weapons might be slightly better PVPwise. But PVP is already owned by halving endurance, never missing, and ranged energy damage. So dark would win PVE (imo)
The ranged -fly of web grenade is vital for anything that isnt spines otherwise in an open map with flying squishies you are out the game.

I wouldn't say that - if the squishies are staying that far away from the action, they're probably not a great concern anyway, and your attentions are better spent elsewhere. Furthermore, the majority of players who take Fly also don't take CJ > SJ > Acro, thus making Petrifying Gaze a useful tool to bring them back down to earth (Knockback/down should have the same effect, but good luck getting into Torrent/Energy Torrent range).

Pretty much every team would have an empath or a kin (most have both) making holds pretty limited. The immobolise isnt the useful part of the web grenade its the -fly. Also team pvp strikes me as gank the squishy (well for a scrapper anyway) if you cant get to them then you're going to be struggling.

doesn't it do -jump as well?

It's pretty simple for a PvP empath (for example) to be completely unaffected by -Fly powers. If you're relying on that to get you by, then you're going to find yourself screwed when you go up against a team/player with a little nous. Yes, it's useful, but it's not the be-all and end-all. Ironically enough, I find that Web Grenade (and other related powers, as found in Mace Mastery) are much more useful in taking down melee characters, because of the -Jump component - a godsend for my MM.

There's more than one way to skin a cat - the better PvP teams I've seen in action tend to exploit vulnerabilities in their opponents, whether they be squishy or "non"-squishy. That's partly why I prefer zonal to arena PvP - there's less emphasis on getting kills at the expense of everything else, meaning you can occasionally get some quite good battles going on between non-squishies - albeit with the obvious trade-offs of being in the zones.

I was just saying that the -fly gives you a chance of getting them rather than no chance if they flying above, but what your saying is true Shaman X for example is a master of surviving anything we can through at him

My Claws/SR scrapper is approaching level 40, and I've been trying to research the scrapper ancillary pools. Unfortunately, my main reference - Sherksilver's character planner - doesn't have any details for the two attacks in Weapons Mastery, Shuriken and Exploding Shuriken. Furthermore, I've never actually seen *anyone* in game with this set.
So... has anyone ever taken these powers, and are they any good? Or is Body Mastery always the way to go?
