Why would you not be able to RP with him? So long as you're having fun with him and the people around you then I say go for it. There's a Leprechaun that hangs out at GG from time to time, and he's immensly popular, so you're a slightly twisted lil fella, makes the possibilities even more interesting for protecting your pot 'o gold
well, i am afraid he does shout at people a lot, the idea is that his clover was killed by artificial fertiliser, his rolling hills replaced by a nuclear plant and his pot 'o gold was taken by the tax man and he is out for revenge. And he does wear a suit etc. i wouldn't mind r/ping him but i thought people might get pissed off with him
If you think his back story is too "jokey", you could always just reinvent him.
Say he's a petty thief who stumbled over a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and stole it. When the rightfull owner of the gold gave chase there was a scuffle, the original leprechaun got accidentaly killed and your thief magically became the new guardian of the gold. (ok, this is cheesier than a bag of wotsits but you get the idea)
Your powers don't have to be radiation. They could just be Leprechaun-y magic. 
The thing I'm trying to say is; just because you thought of him as a joke at the start, you don't have to keep him a joke forever.

The one thing you have to know about roleplaying is taking it to the limits. Back in Star Wars galaxies, I got close to playing a character to was racist towards red twileks. There are those who get angry if you breath on them. Players are free to go mad with their characters.
Just remember, no matter how harsh, strict, painful or stupid your character may be, it can NEVER be bad (unless you decide to go uber.)
I prefer roleplaying around 'nasty' characters. You've got a decent concept, thats all that matters.

But back on topic, so you don't think anyone would mind, and i choose rad cause it was green and fitted the costume, he is a very deranged little Leperchaun and is i suppose a bit of a pyromaniac, i suppose i can always make an alt if i want to go serious...

Nah, I thought he was funny. And the accent came across real well. I didn't get to speak to you (I was Tara) but I was listening. Leprechauns rock.

((ok, i have a character i love on CoV called Leprechaun. He is lvl 19 and a rad/rad corruptor and is by far my best character, he does have a story behind him, why he is here etc. but do you think it would be possible to r/p with this guy? I mean yes, he started off as a joke character but would it be possible?
