I'd say Dark and Poison are the best all round sets with Force Fields being best for buffing your pets and trick the best for debuffing your enemies. By that I mean debuffing in the sense that they die quicker, not so much in the stopping thme hurting you sense.
From personal experience, a Merc/FF(/Mace) is quite good a combo.
Thought it was bad, but then kept looking at how the other masterminds' pets were getting killed around me. The +def from shields and the AoE control the Spec Ops provide make you a mini- /ff -controller. Add to that a stackable armor from Mace, and you yourself is running with defenses that are comparable to an EA brute as are your pets if you bother to buff them.
FF lacks the Heal but you can always take medicine and the Mercs have a medic that will also provide some healing. And while you're at it, get Stimulant, so you can help a team-mate out of a sticky Confusing situation with a Succubus.
Mercs/FF forever.

[/ QUOTE ]Not as much as robots still though, at least from what I've seen.
Bots basicly only have the little-dmg laser show of the 3 little pets and the 'ubah' rockets and flametrower of your assault bot. Protector bots only can do the stungrenade (flash grenade?).
Mercs are basicly exact the same, only minor difference at wich lvl you get wich power.

I'd vote for poison in that sense as well, although I dont have personal experience from trick arrow. And quite frankly I dont care what the best build is, once I experienced taking down scrappers in a matter of seconds during the test server event , Im quite happy with my MM plan
And both protector bots and battle drones get heavy laser burst as a 1st tier upgrade.
And looking at things in perspective: From range Battle drones do more damage upgraded than assault bot does non-upgraded. And theres still 3 battle drones to one assault bot .. (from prima guide)
Trickarrow can do some large aoe debuffing. Within seconds you can debuff resist, defence, acc, perc, dmg, speed and recharge and have 2 little single target powers. Flash arrow (35ft aoe) is auto-hit PvE, Disruption (35ft aoe) is PBaoe+autohit, Glew is target aoe+autohit (35ft aoe) ,Poison gas (25ft aoe tohit) and Acid arrow (8ft aoe tohit)
I dont have Oil Slick or EMP arrow yet, but i've seen those in action and you got some serious aoe-control going. Downside with most pets, you need a fire attack to ignite the oil slick and bots/merc only have 1 pet that can do fire dmg (although unsure if a shot from you primairy can ignite it too). Minor downside, the sleep in poison gas is close to neglectable.
I've read you can stack the Acid Arrow, making you able to hit -60%ish resist debuff. Flash arrow seems to stack too, US forums say its a -20%ish base -acc debuff.
But overall, major downside is animation/drawtime.

Sounds plausible, as I calculated -66% res for poison everytime noxious gas is up, and its uptime is 1 minute to a downtime of about 55 sec with hasten and reasonable slotting. And this is without stacking anything as I hear envenom cant be stacked on same target. If it could, debuff would be much better. Noxious gas is autohit area debuff, btw.
I agree trick arrow sounds nice though Most of the poison stuff is single target targeted powers, so fighting a big mob is more challenging.

That sounds like the point to me. Trick Arrow is largely about AoE debuffing everything sinisterly trapped inside your inescapable glue/oil patch. Acid Arrow and Disruption arrow should mean about a 40% reisstance debuff. I'd wager that poison dhas better single target debuffs though, never tried it myself.
My personal favourite thing about trick arrow now is that with the recharge times tweaked, glue arrow quite noticeably, in I7 you can unleash nearly all of your debuffs at every group you come across, sometimes twice or three times.

[color=green] Actually, In my experience i think robots have the most damage output and common sense i've seen. I mean who wouldnt want Big Giant Frickin Lasers, plus the Protector bot has a repair for all your robots, Protector is bassiclly the medics of the team Whilst the others own the foes.Protector has 2 very good attacks.

I was refering to the final upgrade power, what they would get as extra powers. Mercs in that line get a few more powers, although lesser used that the rocket-shooting of the assault bot.

Don't forget the seeker drones.. it can help a lot to make this nasty Elite boss miss his attacks
from personal experience playing as my Bot/FF/Mu Mastery MM it is awesome i can immob a group of enemies so my Assault bots incindiary missiles can burn them to a crisp

Just to add my opinion, if you've ever been on a team with a good Thugs/FF (/Mace) you'd have noticed the tanking.
Enforcers dish out so much damn manuevers (13% all) that once force fields are stacked up, the chances of them actually getting hit by +3's to 4's is very slim!
When the thugs mastermind supergroup (The Gang) team up, with so many super-maneuvers about, every thug pretty much has super-elude! (When in-range of Enforcers)
So.. its worth checking out.
I've noticed same, was really considering going for a thug setup but i just dont like the sound and the brute-style final pet
By any change, do you know that pyromanic pet, does he trow the fire bombs alot?

I've only got one with the first upgrade, but he tends to throw firebombs as his most often used attack. Occasionally if the mobs are still there after 15 or so seconds, then he'll move in closer and breathe fire.
question what do u think is the best build for an mm
