Erm, right, well. Ok then.
"Idealism is such a wonderful thing. All you really need is someone rational to put it to proper use." - Kerr Avon
Myopic Aardvark on Twitter
The dull wheezing sound didn't make Miss Liberty turn, neither did the appearance of two gaudy coloured figures; though she wondered if the Trickster was still active when she turned and saw the strange blue box that had appeared from nowhere.
She was just picking up the communicator to see if Bridger would take a look in the Atlas Park for some of the Teen-Heroes mucking about when the first figure spoke to her.
"Good Morning.", he said, "And who might you be?"
Inwardly, a burning resentment ran through her body. Since the jetpacks SHE had personally gone out of her way to collect had run out, she had faded back into the mist of heroes. No matter that HER Longbow were patrolling both the Rogue Islands and Paragon, it was always Gramps that people knew.
Being a professional though, it didn't show on her face.
"Welcome to Paragon City, Citizen. I'm Miss Liberty, your guide to some of the weird things that go on round here.".
Looking at his clothes, she felt rather gaudy herself and wondered if ICON were doing a sale where she could get her costume updated.
"Splendid, we'll take the whole tour please. I'm the Doctor.", the young man said, shaking her hand vigorously.
"Yeh, and I'm Rose", the young woman said, hands on her hips. Miss Liberty listened as they spoke and came to the conclusion they were English. She had already pencilled them in as Natural's, and asked to see their ID cards.
The young man pulled out his ID card and he was a Normal Level 1 Natural, so she pointed over to Atlas City Hall. He hadn't come through OutBreak, so he probably knew what he was doing. When she asked the girl though, she looked nervous.
"Will this do?", said the Doctor, flashing the card in front of her again.
Miss Liberty frowned. "No Citizen, that's your ID card, I'm looking for Rose's."
Nearby there was a fluttering and a ragged looking Starling landed in a tree.
Through the eyes of the Starling, Dr. Vahzilok stared at the two new arrivals.
"Your level of miniaturisation astounds me. With this technology alone I could make my creations able to take on the SupaTrolls and win. Who are these two capes?"
A voice from the darkness said
"SupaTrolls? With my GENIUS, you could take on Statesman and Recluse at the same time. You have always aimed too low Vahzilok. Those two 'capes' will cause the most problems to your plans; so I would suggest that your Eidolons kill them as soon as possible.
The hand that the dark voice belonged to flicked a switch and a low buzz filled the air. From the Starling's eyes, Dr. Vahzilok saw the Police Drones spark and die out, the light fading in their eyes.
"Remarkable, I shall send my Eidiolon's to Atlas City Hall.", Dr. Vahzliok murmured. "Isn't it strange that you are after a Doctor, but you need a Doctor to kill him?"
The figure moved out of the Darkness slowly as if on wheels. "There is nothing that I need any DOK-TOR for now that I have your Eidiolons.", and a purple beam leapt out into Dr Vahzilok's back. Dr. Vahzilok shook for a moment and then slumped against his controls before the Teleportation Field settled over him.
"We were entombed, but we live on. This is only the beginning. We will prepare, we will grow stronger. When the time is right we will emerge and take our rightful place as the supreme power of the univerzszszsse!"
(Cue titles for the end of Chapter 1)

There are only three alternatives. It thinks were either a threat, food, or a mate. Its gonna either kill us, eat us, or hump us.
Meanwhile In Siren's Call...
Dark Stabbity slid through the streets hunting his prey. All of his senses were alert for the smell of heroes. He had been hit earlier, but he knew that his regeneration would save him from any blow. The Heroes were already dead now he just had to show them the way.
Rounding the corner of one of the buildings, he ducked back as a Longbow Guardian strode out, scanning the area. He frowned for a moment, then carried on looking. Peering round the corner, Dark saw a Cape floating just above the ground. The figure was all dressed in white and had a strange aura surrounding him.
Dark narrowed his senses and realised this was a easy kill; and better yet, someone high in the Statesman's guard. He stifled a giggle and stepped up, creeping closer to his target. Two figures with swords were fighting up in front and this white Cape must be watching....that would be his last mistake.
Quietly drawing his beloved katana, he crouched and lined up a stab that would pierce the Hero's heart. The Hero wasn't even moving at this point and Dark felt the adrenalin rush through his system as he would claim another victim.
The blade slashed out, straight into the defenceless Hero, and ...nothing happened.
"Oh Puhllease!", said the White figure and his newly glowing fist slammed Dark back against the wall. The Aura had disappeared from the Cape and a bolt of blue energy slammed into Dark's chest. Dark tried to leap to his feet, but his feet had decided not to listen to him. His vision blurred as he called upon all of his powers but it was too late. The Hero brought both of his glowing hands down on Dark's head with a sickening crunch and the Teleport Field kicked in.
Dark awoke in a hospital bed and heard voices. Instantly, his body disappeared under the sheets and then disappeared from view. Sliding his bedclothes to one side, he snuck out and looked around, senses trying to determine friend or foe.
It was then that he saw the Arachnos Drone, de-powered, lying on one side with scorch marks on it.
"They've got in. The damn spandex have got into the Hospital!", he roared in his mind. Careful not to make a sound, he snuck along the wall to the central aisle. The sparking lights everywhere were making it a little hard to see, but he could make out a shadow standing over in the next cubicle. His senses once again became hyper aware and he stole across the cold tiles into range. He may have missed the Blaster; but this Tank was going to pay.
His sword lashed out from the shadows and slammed into the metallic side of the Tank. It then snapped.
Dark was taken aback by this. Really taken aback. His Katana was forged in the Terra Volta Reactor from Adamintium. It COULDN'T SNAP! As he turned to run though, weaponless, four images slowly swam into view. Four more pepperpots destealthing. Dark screamed that he was a Villain too and he really needed a Robot Mastermind, although with far more expletives.
That was when they cried out "EXTERMINATE!" and shot him. He had chosen this as his Moment of Glory though and his body was already working on repairing the damage when they shot him again. This time he fell dead, and this time, there was no Teleportation Field.
Ive updated the PDF and DOC and had to change where I uploaded them cus the site seems to go down alot, and I thought i'd update with my small pennies worth...sorry of the quality aint as good as the others lol but Im pants at scripts.
Back on top of Atlas City Hall
Cut to Statesman explaining the chain of events that have lead to the death of so many of Paragons Heroes.
Statesman
The 'ships' up there appeared from no where Doc, I heard the engines and the screams but by the time I got here it was too late, the heroes were falling one by one until I was the last man standing and thats why I called you. For months now I have heard rumours that Lord Arachnos was making his army stronger and bigger each day but I didnt think he was capable of this kind of attack!
The Doctor turned around and saw the true number of casualties, between the heroes there were normal everyday people laying dead and then he turned to the Statesman and said,
Doctor
this is not the work of Arachnos
Statesman
its not exclaimed Statesman
Doctor
no its The Rikti a far more superior species and from what you said I bet they have some teleport system, far better than what we could ever manage. I have a plan Statesman, get as many of your heroes as you can by sunrise by the phone booth over there and I'll tell you what we need to do, in the meantime I dont like heights so is there any chance you can put me back on the ground please, though this flag is impressive and all but the view is horrid.
Rose and the Doctor head back to the tardis where the Doctor reads some old books on how other worlds have won against the Rikti. Rose asked how and basically inside all the jargon the doctor force fed into her slow brain he said "force fields based on their own technology" and thats what we will build she asked, Of course said the Doctor.
Just how do you build a force field asked Rose, well the Doctor replied this is how........
Camera pans out from the Tardis to show the true extent of what happened earlier that day and then zooms back in to an overturned car, the car moves and tips back on to its wheels and another hero emerges, covered in glass and tarmac, a voice can be heard shouting in the background.
"HEY BRAWLER IS ALIVE, YO STATES BRAWLER IS ALIVE"
Brawler heads over the street towards the tardis where he sees Synapse, Positron, Statesman and Miss Liberty along with some of the new Recruits and turns to Statsman who is still looking like he has let everyone down.
Back Alley Brawler
Jeez what happened here Statesman
Statesman
I dont know, I heard screams and some kinda engine noise but by the time I got here it was too late, all these heroes were dead. What can you remember?
Back Alley Brawler
Not much to be honest, I was eating my egg mayo butty and then a car landed on me thats all, and whats with this blue box?
Statesman
The doctor is here
Back Alley Brawler looks puzzled
Back Alley Brawler
The Doctor, Doctor Who?
Statesman
I dunno, they just call him 'The Doctor'
The tardis door opens and out steps the Doctor and Rose with a rolled up peice of paper that has all the plans for the 'War Walls' that will help protect Paragon City for the meanwhile. The doctor explains to Statesman and the others that this is far from finished and the chances of a 2nd attack are still quite high and that they must contact the Vanguard immediately to salvage what they can from the wreckage of rikti drones. The chances are Atlas Park would not be the only place that was attacked so you must go and see if there is any of the ships crashed through out the city. The doc hands over the paper he was holding, thats all I can tell you now Statesman, the rest is up to you and your people. Thanks said Statesman.
The Doc and Rose head back into the tardis and the heroes head off into Paragon to look for wreckage and the chance that they may actually find some survivors too.
Cut To tardis interior where Rose and the Doc are by the central console and chat about what they just saw, Rose is still pretty amazed that she has seen real-life heroes with capes and comments to the doc that she thought the likes of Superheroes were for movies, the Doctor laughs and explains that just because something cant be seen doesnt mean it doesnt exist and agrees that they should hang around for a bit longer just incase they are needed because the day is far from over yet!

I ain't no prose writer, but I knocked this up this evening.
A bit quick and dirty, Rose's legs seem to be longer than I intended and I could've taken more time on the TARDIS itself and I don't have any of those Gallifrey-doodles that are in everywhere nowadays, but not bad for 3.5 hours work even if I do say so myself...
Funny... I had intended to do a version of the book covers until but figured I didn't have the correct font for the book title, so I started on duplicating the DWA layout, before realising they use the same font! Doh.
@Archiseus: Where did you get your TARDIS for the image at the front of the PDF?

Lord Recluse stared over the top of his steepled fingers at the figure in front of him. Deep within him, he could feel mind powers fingering the edges of his mental shields. Rarely had a Destined One been this strong, and Recluse pondered over whether this man would be better added to his organisation; or whether it would be preferrable to have him killed now.
The goatee beareded man spoke. "Well, Lord...", the word was tainted with sarcasm but still overwhelmingly charming, "I was wondering why you sent me this?", and he dropped a small fish like shape to the floor.
Lord Recluse brought his hands up to his mouth and in a slow deliberate fashion gathered his thoughts.
"To test you.", he finally said.
"I'm assuming I have passed that test.", the figure replied, dusting himself down, "If you have any more then I'm certain I could oblige in another demonstration."
"That will not be necessary.", Recluse said, still unsure on how this Mastermind was so telepathically strong. "I have no need to waste resources if what you say is true."
"Oh, it is true. If you do not believe me, I'm sure your Swordsman will confirm what I have said."
Scirocco growled under his breath and muttered something in Farsi.
Recluse reached an arm across to Scirocco, and the Swordsman was silent, but nodded agreement.
"Then it's settled. I will provide you with all I know about the creatures killing your Destined; and in turn you will help me kill Statesman's latest Ally. My machine can get you right into the heart of Paragon."
Recluse nodded, stroking the side of his chin.
"For now, your offer seems fair, but I have many plans to see to before I can attack in such force."
The Mastermind nodded and pulled an antique watch from the side of his smoking jacket."Let us say an hour then. I do have some loose ends to tie up myself."
"An hour.", Recluse repeated, as he turned and left.
Scirocco walked over and picked up the twisted, shrunken body of Gideon Ray from the floor whilst the well-dressed Mastermind pocketed his strange device and returned to his TARDIS.

Inspired by a remark Myopic made in the Doctor Who thread, I decided to try my hands at a Doctor Who/City Of Heroes script. However, I got bored with it just after the second page. So, I'm throwing it open to other people to finish it, and maybe get things going as a Round Robin.
Some suggested (and they are only suggested) guidelines:
No more than two pages per iteration.
Let's try to keep this going as long as possible.
No breaking out of the characterisations set by previous Round Robiners.
(I know The Doctor and Roses' characterisations change from episode to episode, but this is to prove that we're, collectively, better writers than Russell T. Davis)
No swearing! This should, ideally, be as close to an actual Doctor Who script as any of us are going to get to writing.
Having said that...Deus Ex Machina = baaaad. Well thought out idea = goooooood.
The first bit - obviously, feel free to add your name to the byline once you've added something.
My original idea was that The Doctor, at some point in the future when he's Companionless (yay!) travels to Paragon City in its' past, and thwarts a Vahzilok attack. He does such a good job that they erect a statue of him in Atlas Park, and the statue replaces that of Atlas. In Paragons' present, the Vahzilok (who have become Daleks - Dr Vahzilok as Davros appealled to me, for some reason) come down in a big spaceship, and Statesman calls for The Doctor using a Sonic Screwdriver type device. The call, however, reaches the Doctor as we know him now, with Rose (boo!) and he goes to Paragon City for the first time, with everyone worshipping him as a Hero.
Think 7th Doctor Battlefield, but with a [censored] assistant and no Excalibur.
Aaaand.....take it away!
