Bodyguard in pvp a BIT to strong
reminds me.. scatter-attacks (rain of fire, burn, ignite) work nicely as well as henchies are pretty hard to command as they are running trying to evade your attack. might not knock the pets out of 60ft, but it sure is a start

And if you think just MMs are a problem thinkabout the SR and Ice armors now and add now, add DM Stalkers and Elec brutes to the mix

dont wanna slag your rant razman, but all defbased powersets only been buffed in pve, not pvp they already were pretty powerful in pvp (as anyone who fought my ice tank can confirm
)

nah tis ok all about views/foresight/opinions here...
but as for DEF, i dunno lol tanking DX once before his respec was bad in i6, and as Shannon/Katalina can confirm, come i7, summat changed in pvp and DX wasn't as easy to drop as he used to be
it felt like PvE-i4 all over again, -- in a pvp setting XD *joy*

Usually they keep their pets together so you use cones and AoEs to attack the pets and the mastermind at the same time that way the pets are hurt but have to absorb his damage as well. It's kind of risky but not always what they're expecting if you can sneak up behind them/fly in. The disadvantage of Bodyguard is that in a larger battle the mastermind can't specify you as the target easily without risking himself so you should be able to position an AoE.
Also, when you do it you should be singing e.g.
"Flamethrower and Full'Auto! The powers with the names you want to touch... But you musn't touch!"
Then you get AS'ed because of the animation time but it was probably worth it.

how often do you focus a pvp char on aoe. About never?:P
Well you thinking Arena PvP and not zone villain PvP. I have lots of AoE on my Blaster and he is quite good in a PvP zone. Also helps that he can see stalkers and mezz them before they can see him.

''So...what is your job in pvp in teams
.?"
'' I annoy MM's''
''What more?''
''Hit MM pets:/''
''OOOOOKKAAAYY"
yeah could be nice in those overcrowded ffa's to stop some kills maybe...
To be fair I think MMs needed a bit more protection. They have a lot of thinking and clicking to do in a short space of time and it makes it hard to keep track especially in PvP. In the RV event I found a slightly twisted pleasure in running up to one and 2-shotting them with Eagle's Claw and Crane Kick, then watching the entire set of henchmen fall over and feeling like I just brought down a small army

You know you could do both. If you set fire to and riddle with bullets the MM and his pets they'll go down meaning a much faster kill when you total foucs him. If you go straight for him now he doesn't go down easy in Bodyguard mode and you'll probably end up with part of an assault bot lodged in your groin.
