Weird, mine's Inv/Fire, and I really like /fire, if nothing else for the two ace AoE's!

I wouldn't count earth out so quickly. I use it very effectively with my stone/axe tanker. The immob and the hold are massively useful for pinning down any runners. Stalagmites not only looks good but is a superb aggro getter. The AoE sleep is kind of pointless though. As mudpots wakes them all up again. for an ice or inv tanker not using a damaging aura it would be much more useful.

With my Invul/SS Tanker I've chosen Earth Mastery. Primarily to fit in with the bio I made for him when first created (last year February). The majority find Salt Crystals (despite being awoken when attacked, it puts enemies to sleep for long periods) to be a waste of time, however I find it useful, provided I complete my AoE attacks first.
Stalagmites is a bit of a endurance hog and rechrge is relatively lengthy, however it does stack with Hand Clap...after this, is when I usually activate Salt Crystals.
Routine as follows:
Herd mob
Footstomp
Hand Clap
Stalagmites
Salt Crystals
Majority of mob is contained...those not affected by disorientate from Hand Clap/Stalagmites are usually held by Salt Crystals. The few (if any at all) stragglers face the wrath of Knockout Blow or be held with Fossilize.
I've tried other epics including Fire and Power Mastery. Fire is exceptionally good for holds. Power Mastery, despite being very handy, is pretty boring imo.
Nowadays, I always say try something different instead of the norm which everybody is getting just to make their heroes "uber".
Develop on character and make your hero interesting...not predicatable.

Well Guys, having hit 47 and 48 this weeken, ive tken Block of Ice, and slotted it 3 Accuracy, 1 recharge so far, and it now hits minions every time, and Lieutennts often enough, but refuses to hit on bosses, is there any way to change this? or is that down to the base accuracy or holding values for tanks / epics etc? would be nice to lock those damned psychic carnies out of a battle for a while.

or would i be better off grabbing stun at 49 to stop bosses while i slap them silly for a while?

A boss need a double-hold, since he has higher resist to it (minion/lt can be 1 shot hold). IIRC, all hold powers of the epic have the basic 75% to_hit, only the later on aoe's (stalgmites for example) have lowered to hit. A 2x Acc should already be enough to hit +1 min/lt/boss nearly any time, you didnt mentioned what lvl mobs you are fightin; if you're going +4/+5 all the time its pretty logic it wont hit that often

Fighting 50 / 51's atm, but i didnt think i stood much chance of hitting bosses , was a bit of a wild hope lol, hence i was asking, cheers Sinergy!

Slot it 2xacc then recharge or hold duration. You need to get the power to stack to hold a boss; either by reapplying it quickly or to get the first hold to still be in effect when you drop the second.

I am loving my Tank at the moment. She (Kitrino Rush) is an Invulnerability - Energy Melee Tanker, so I am definately going for the Pyre Mastery Epic. Since I really kind of wanted Fire Melee in the first place. But all I got when I mentioned it was "DooooooooooM"
