Kinda a follow up to my last post, tinkering in CoH/CoV Hero Builder i came up with this idea for powers and sloting. Ive left one of the midnight grasp slots empty cause im not sure what to put in there yet. Let me know what you guys think. Cheer

It's worth noting ToF has a -20% ToHit Debuff which can be enhanced by slotting, given that you can stack this on a single target you could be putting out a -60% debuff. I would say taking ToF and 6 slotting it is a must.

Attacks - because the base damage is so low on most Brute attacks it is almost always replacing damage slots with endurance reduction instead since Fury gives you much more of a damage boost than the damage enhancers so that your aim should be to keep your endurance up as much as possible.

Hi-
(1) As stated get rid of damage and replace with end reducers, acc and -acc debuffs. FURY is the answer to damage as filth says.
(2) I would get stamina ASAP. I played from 24 to 34 as stamina less build. It is hard going although possible. If it suits your play style fair enough but I found end was a major problem. I dropped dark consumption (misses alot IMO and needs a mobs very close) and kept consume. I now hardly have any downtime which is all the better for fury and smashing.
(3) Would get tof into the build useful for those pesky bosses-I am adding it to my build again despite playing through the 30s without it. But not only good for bosses-good for pvp to
(4) Consider the benefits of aid self over tough. I typically find healing flames is great for survivability-another regen power that works against all damage (unlike tough) may be beneficial.


As a final thought if you wait to I7 could do a very similar build with dark/elec which would be very similar but will I think look cooler -just a thought

Hehe-Forget final comment thought this was a new build not a respec.Though still feel /elec looks cooler.

Also hurdle instead of swift to stack with leaping may be better idea.

? more end reds in burning aura-it takes it out of me

Midnight grasp I agree is great damage but would have tof instead. The uses of a single target immobilise are limited IMO when you think dark/fires like us are PvE monsters (IMO lol). I fitted in fiery embrace to increase soul drains damage (used straight after)-then it boosts burning aura and consumes damage.

Future plan full fury plus mobs = fiery embrace-mass immobilise (PP)-and then BURN (cue evil laughter with following nerf bat)

Hope this gives u some ideas-but at the end of the day each to there own

Well, to be honest having taken my build up to level 23 so far I'm pretty happy with it. Based on the forums I should have Touch of Fear in there, but taking Stamina and Leaping to keep me on top of my Fury bar as much as possible meant I couldn't afford it.

Basically this Brute build is like the Energizer bunny, he keeps going and going and going. I've got resistance to all mez types, rarely run low on Endurance unless hit by an End sucking enemy and if I do I can hit Dark Consumption for a quick refill (thought it's a good idea to pop a couple of yellows first). Dunno how it'd hold up in PvP because it relies on Fury to hit hard, but it has serious staying power.

Couple of things, Miss, that, IMO, really make */fire utterly incredible.
1) Tough. The added S/L res helps enormously. Drop Shadow Punch and get boxing? IIRC the damage is comparable though you'll lose the tohit debuff...
2) The 3rd SO in SJ isn't necessary, pretty sure the speed caps with 2 - put the extra slot into healing flames: very good heal.
3) I've found that consume works best with just rech and acc provided you use it in a group of 3 or more mobs.
4) The +def from CJ isn't all that good, I'm afraid. Those slots may be better used elsewhere...

As for DM...
1) Never really gone for tohit debuffs but could be handy alright.
2) I'd highly recommend slotting Midnight Grasp with damage instead of immob duration.

Lastly: stealth?

Firstly miss, hehe-thats pretty much like my build except that I got rid of dark consumption for reasons stated on previous post-but I agree u do keep going and going
I fitted in tough/boxing in the build instead of this and burn. And as hot head says the resistance stacks and is of great help. So why I am thinking of respecing to a aid other/AID SELF build? Well the reasons are 3 fold.
No cap on regen unlike resistance/healing flames is still IMO the thing that saves my [censored] more than any other and works against all damage types not just S/L and so could do with another.Yet one more toggle running that can be dropped-while aid self is of course a clicky (very useful when all your toggles do drop lol)
And yep agree with hothead if u are taking midnight grasp damage or debuffs than all thos immobilise SOs. I still think tof is the way to go for single target control however.

ok made this based off the recomendations, but i cant see how u can possibly hope to beat regen scrappers without slotting for damage, and lets face it, you dont come across much else, so im not particularly happy with this build.

lookin over it again, it doesnt seem so bad, but it just seems so odd not putting dmg in :S

Not so odd for brutes, fury can do this. However the main problem here is fury in pvp wich is very hard to build. For PvE not slotting for damage is not a problem at all, the faster you hit the faster your fury bar will be near the 90'ish and damage out of the roof, with or without damage enhancement.

I'm personally not a fan of hasten, i would prefer to get dark consomption instead. Of course thats just personal taste. If you are interested here is a PvE build i'm working on a DM/FA brute

Hehe, the not putting damage hances in is a little weird at first, but my word, what a difference it makes!

Fury just makes a mockery of damage SOs. 3 of them = 100% boost (ish) to damage. Fury (and some friendly buffing) will get you to 850% (iirc, might be 800%). I slot pretty much all my brute attacks 2acc 2recred 2endred, although with the end management tools in the latter levels of EA fast approaching, i may be able to switch to 2acc 3recred 1endred, or even 2acc, 2recred, 1endred, 1 damage.

Just that simple change of slotting makes such a huge difference to brutes - I guarantee you will be loving the extra SMASH!

i really want to be slotting this guy for PvP, and tbh im gonna drop comsume in favor of dark consumption for the simple reason it gives u more end when it hits
