Illusion/Storm Summoning Respec advice please
Unless you learn to work with Hurricane, then yes it can be annoying, if you do learn to work with it, it adds a whole new level of control to your build.

Not sure what you mean by this, taking the Med pool set or empathy power set?
If you mean Med, then at least that way you can heal yourself if needs be.
Superior invis is very nice and alot better than Group or Steamy, tbh, either take Group invis or Steamy Mist as they don't stack with each other.
Spetral Terror is, since ED, is the main AoE control power, mez-wise that is, Phantom Army is the other AoE taunt control.
There is more to add, I'm just not in the mind set to think of them atm
You're a controller/debuffer, not a healer If you really have to heal someone, take O2, but for pete's sake do not take the med pool. Hurricane is AWESOME mob placement tool and ToHit debuff after you learn to control it. Spectral terror is the best group control you'll get, definitely pick it up.
I find O2 boost handy, i team with an emp but it does help fill the odd gap and has saved lives for sure. I also tend to use it to buff squishies on occassion as it has a nice -sleep and -end drain (i think?) effect, handy for DE and sappers (i do like my emps awake to heal me )
Hurricane is great it's true, takes some practice though, it's rather like telekinesis, awesomely powerful but when used wrongly is a real pain.
Spectral terror is great right out of the box, one acc in mine serves me just fine.
I also use lightning clap, only stuns minions, but then thats usually most of a spawn. With all my other controls i might lose it on respec though, its a busy set and i'm not sure how much it adds overall (if toggle dropping becomes as hard as it seems it might in PvP that will seal it's fate)
Steamy mist is a nice power for the resists, team stealth and end drain/confuse res, but doesn't stack with sup invis so i skipped it.
I wouldn't recommend dropping Spectral wounds. With containment it does very nice damage and only a part of the unslotted damage heals back, and it's all psi dam afaik
Oh and definately get tornado, controversial i know but it's such a fun power, useful solo and against AVs in particular, but thats besides the point, it chucks stuff all over....always good for a laugh
Thats my view of the sets anyway, very fun troller to play i find.
I miss him in the weeping of the rain;
I want him at the shrinking of the tide;
The old snows melt from every mountain-side,
And last year's leaves are smoke in every lane;
But last year's bitter loving must remain

Hi boris,
Here a couple of thoughts:
-Spectral terror: sheer excellence. very good control power. Take it! -unfortunately fear doesn't set up containment
-02 boost is your only available healing power, but i reckon you probably mean aid other from medicine pool. 02 has roughly half the recharge time, but double the end cost of 02 and the heal is slighty better then aid other i believe. Especially later in game you'll find 02 boost much more valuable because it protects/frees others from stun/dissorient as well. So unless you really wanna dig into the med pool for maybe aid self i'd say take 02 boost over aid other. Though it's not really needed to have a healing power as an ill troller, just nice imo. You could drop it all the way and take another power (hasten?) instead.
-Hurricane is a very good power! Takes some time to learn to use it well, but trust me then it's not annoying at all, but a very, very good power.
-Fitness is vital pool indeed more so since the storm set is pretty endheavy. Slot up stamina asap with 3 endmod and you can drop most of the (unnecessary) end redux you have slotted.
-TP is not vital, it's even harder to use then any other travelpower. I'd prefer another travel power myself, but it's up to you.
-sup invis is good, but not really necessary for pve. (pvp wise it offers a bit more invis, but in PvE it's a totally unneeded surplus of invis). It's very end heavy and group invis is much more team friendly and with 2 recharge in it + hasten that is up for like 90% of the time and offers all the invis you need.
Personally I love steamy mist. It's a PBAoE stealth that affects players in a large area around you (you are not completely invisible as invis does, but ime stealth is sufficient in most cases) -Handy note: in PvE stealth+superspeed (ss) stack to invis. So if you take ss + steamy mist, you become totally invisible (same status as group invis) under almost all conditions. Only snipers and rikti drones can still detect you then... Nice thing about this is that combined with you having tp friend you can tp your team all over the place in complete safety )- Also mist is a toggle so you can switch it on and off easily- and it offers some very good damage resistance. I'd advice to take either group invis or the mist and leave sup invis.
-Snow storm, is a yes in my book. very good for mitigating incoming damage. (the slow you have slotted in it works only for movement speed, not recharge hence not really worth slotting because they'll be moving very slow already. Keep the 2 end redux though)
-blind is a must and the cornerstone of your build. 6 slot it asap (2 accu/3 or 2 hold/ 1 or 2 recharge) I like to have flash myself on my ill trollers (you're a controller after all and holding is your middle name), but i guess you can get by without if you must, because it's not the best AoE hold a troller can get. If you keep it though you better 6 slot it with 2accu/2hold/2 recharge.
-Freezing Rain (FR) FTW!!!1 it's just brilliant...
-Noooooo. keep spectral wounds bud. it's your damage dealing power and does that excellent when containment is set up. Just keep it and be happy.
I could give you an example build, but i think it's best to learn by trial and error and with tips from other players. That way you get to understand what you (can) do best.
Finally a few more tips :
-knockback in gale is a wasted slot. make it 2 accuracy so it actually hits anything higher then even con baddies (it has an inherent base accuracy penalty) and leave it at that. You won't be using it much later, because by then you have way better tools to use (i.e. hurricane)
-slot freezing rain (FR) with at least 3 recharge, you want this excellent power up as much as possible. drop the damage enhance as its damage is negligible and the endredux are really not necessary either. after that you can slot def debuff.
-same for phantasm army (PA): 3 recharge, cos you want these babies up as much as possible too. fill the rest with 1 accu and 2 dam.
-again: 3 slot stamina asap and drop the slow in snowstorm that slot is much better spend elsewhere!
-put in 2 accu in all you primary attacks, bare PA. Phantasm could do nicely with a second accu too.
-Really onsider hasten as you'll be having quite some long recharging powers soon. I'd swap it for O2 boost and if you really want to have a healing power maybe get it again later as in the late game O2 boost becomes more usefull because of the lot more mezzing baddies you'll meet. BTW, especially when playing solo O2 boost is very usefull to slap on your phant.
I could say a lot more, but i reckon others will fill in on some of the points i haven't mentioned. It's good to ask advice and use it, but most of all it's your toon, so you build and play as you like.
Have fun!
P.S. You really should slot all SO's in your powers. It will greatly increase your effectiveness compared to with the many DO's you still have. Do a little dance for a high lvl SG member and with puppy eyes ask him for inf
Wow, thanks everyone for taking the time to read, digest and advise. Extremely grateful for all the tips. I will hit the test server with your recommendations and see how it goes.
Thanks again,
Simon
Hi there, have a Controller at level 27, with respec available.

So my thoughts on this are...
Have the option to get spectral terror, is it worth it?
I have o2 boost, can be useful but wandering if i should go for the healing power set instead.
Hurricane seems more annoying than useful?
The Teleporation and fitness power sets seem vital.
Superior invis seems really good but is that much better than steamy mist or group invisibility?
I do like decieve and blind/flash, good for curtailing bad guys and stop them in their tracks.
Snow storm seems ok again, for stalling enemy attacks.
Freezing rain is really welcomed by others i play with so will kepp that.
Spectral wounds, well i think that can go now. seems largely pointless.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Simon
