Telekinesis

I'm soon to level a Kin/Rad defender to 47 and have already delved into the Psychic Epic Pool and have Hypnotise and the Mind over body armour.

Looking about for some inforamtion on what the power Telekinesis does has been rewarded with minimal results.

What I think I know; It holds and repels mobs based on an anchor and 'collects' mobs in close proximity to this anchor and repels them in a straight line backward (from the caster).

It costs a bit of end. How much end in practical terms for a kin? Its Auto-hit? What else can it be slotted with?

What are people's experience with this? From what I'm thinking.... target boss or mob group and force them into a corner of the room......and keep them held in place as long as the endurance lasts?

I really want this power to be good - anyone with the power and loves it (or hates it for that matter) could give me some idea of their use of it?

Cheers

It's a damn great power but it does take learning to use well, about same level as hurricane. The end cost should be OK for a kin. It is auto-hit, and works the way you described. Also, it holds lt's and minions, but you need another hold to stack for bosses. It's best slotted with 3 EndRdx, and possibly 1 or 2 RechRdx.

It's a very good power, but endurance heavy, you'll probably have to experiment a bit before you get used to it.

That said, with telekinesis I can solo an emp/psi on invincible, it's invaluable for locking down bosses, and a welcome addition in AV fights, where every hold helps.

Well my experience of Telekinesis has varied a fair bit. The power ranges from being an instant death button to an invaluable tool in being able to pin an AV in place. The main thing to remember is without a +Recovery power (and Stamina doesn't cut it on it's own), you'll run out of Endurance.

With something like Recovery Aura or Adrenaline Boost you can run it for the duration of the power. One fun trick is to target an immovable object like Gun turret or cyst, it seems to turn the target into a trap that anything runnning past is held.

Lets see....here's all I can think of about telekinesis: (large parts extracted from me guide XD)

"Telekinesis, in addition to being a strong, auto-hit, AoE hold, adds to Storm’s formidable array of positioning utensils. It is also a controversial tool in PvP for its seeming 'boredom inducing' potential.
Of course for the record:
1 Break free used stops the hold effect
4 stops the repel effect
Very interesting to use to instantly get containment up....
And its very good for corner games...i.e stack em into a corner (using other knockback moves to shove them there) then stack all the locational moves you want

Although I was thinking....with the coming Mastermind Bodyguard thing...would it be a viable tactic then to Telekinesis then the mastermind's minions away (specially since they'd be clumped up together) from the mastermind? Would that then get rid of his bodyguardness??
Someone care to comment on that?
Thanks!

I've just picked up TK for my Kin Defender and found this guide, although a little out of date, to be incredibley useful as a learning tool.

As has been said before, TK is an endurance killer - but if you can't cope with that as a Kineticist, who can?

It demands a lot of skill but adds so much to your solo-ability and is great fun! Comboing with Dominate from the same power pool gives you the stackable holds to shut down any boss and clumping lots of enemies together makes for better Fulcrum Shifts!

I've loved TK since I picked it up, it's added so much to my repertoire and is the sort of power that I'll still be learning to use for a long, long time to come.

On top of all that, it also comes complete with a most excellent 6-Million Dollar Man sound effect. How many more reasons do you need to pick it?
