I wouldn't worry too much, at level 18 you get Seismic Smash which is a great attack. The mallets are very good themselves. Stone Fist is strong for a first tier attack, if you're concerned about building Fury (and stone is pretty slow) use Brawl and Air Sup from the Flight pool if you can, it's a great attack; boxing from Fighting pool and flurry from Speed pool you could also take.

I would also take Fault - it's a very good control power for sticky situations.

If you are going down the granite armour route then you need to start looking at ways to combat the -spd and -recharge and building fury. Obviously to build fury you need to attack things.. its gonna be hard when in granite cos your powers won't be recharging quick enough, so you are going to have to rely on getting things to attack you. Although I don't think its useful for many other brutes I can see taunt having its uses for a granite brute. You should be able to take more dmg than other sets so I would of thought having taunt so you can keep things attacking you would be a good idea. Get mudpots aswell, again to help with keeping agro. Slotted correctly you could possible just keep agro on you with mudpots running if you didn't like the idea of taking taunt.

Its a hard one to decide on really, you are in no way a tank but when in granite you can't rely on your attacks to build fury so you need them to attack you, but how much agro are you going to be able to survive?

I'd really recommend fault. Its a great 'Oh [censored]!' power for when you are in over your head and saved me on numerous occasions.

You will obviously need stamina, I guess hasten would come in useful aswell. TP is normally the recommended travel power for someone with stone armour. Then for surviving agro you'd also need to rely on things like rooted and earths embrace.

Other than finding a friendly /kin corrupter to team with tho I don't know what else to suggest

hmm not sure on stone armour but stone melee is a pretty exciting and powerful set, i personally prefer it to SS,take hasten and build up asap,if youre going to be a tank at high level dont bother with brimstone crystal and minerals, or you could get them and respec them out later im not sure

Hey Guys,

Aggree on What Tufty wrote, but have some comments.

I have a lvl33 stone/stone brute (have like 6 brutes), and this one is the strongest, I rely on taunt to get beat up and gain fury like hell... It's the only brute I have who's capable of using taunt without faceplanting :-) Hell I feel stronger than my Fire/Fire tank lol

I took hasten asap to get over the slooooooow power recharges. Also slotting my powers with loots recharge enh.

I also look for a kinetics to team with... with Speedboost ur invincinble! and a kin is the best Melee healer o'm all :P

I don't use mudpots cause it's too end hungry for my build.

I didn't take the stonefists, but went for boxing and took tough round lvl22... Every1 in my sg calls me the 'Suicidal Walking Wall'.

Also go for TP, U need it when ur rooted without a kinetics in team. With Speedboost U can move normal, but without Man U NEED TP. TP friend is a nice bonus:-)

Fire Green - lvl50 Tank
Evil Jimmy - lvl33 Brute
Mad Fire Green - lvl40 Brute

It is quite doable to get a full attack chain while in granite, just need to slot some recharges in.
