Looking for advice: Fire/Ice
i'm not that far into /ice yet (28 atm), but i think freezing toutch and flash freeze are some pretty cool panic button powers.

Flash Freeze?
Freezing touch is a single target hold, that I have to get into melee range to use. Plus it costs 10 end. If I have END I don't need a panic power, fire will kill them quickly enough . If I have no end I'm dead anyway as I couldn't activate the power. But I'll have a look at it when I get to that sort of level.
Is chilling embrace any good? It sounds useful, but I don't play with many */ice blasters so I don't have any knowlege of it.
i realy love it, specialy when you need to keep mobs together near the tanker. The slowpenaly its pretty big, they realy get slowed massive.
Together with icepatch, i think its a very good combo.

If I have it running and run into a mob, then run back from them, how long does the debuff last? Does it go as soon as I am no longer standing next to them or does it hang around a bit?
As much as assault/tactics may help the both of you. Wouldn't medicine help you in your team more?
Think of this, you both have a self heal to reduce downtime. ALso if you both have stimulant before hand, you'll both get the benefit of having some status protection, so when duoing with that blaster you won't have to worry about getting mezzed.
Assualt/tactics have a really high end cost, and do fairly little on a blaster. The only reason to take them is PvP.
PvP'ers take the powers cause it helps taunt, placate, perception, confuse, fear. A blaster (and namely a fire blaster) uses a [censored] load of endurance. I dont think your build can take the end cost.
Flares is a power to skip. Its bad, very bad. Does absolutly no damage.
I think you would prefer temp. invu. to PFF. The blaster value is quite low for PFF.
I think, I would get some of the good melee attacks from Ice too. and maybe even slot sprint so I could get in/out of melee fast.
Anyway apart from having flares it doesnt look bad. Some nice slotting IMO.

Not a bad choice, even if I prefer Ice/dev cause its so good in solo PvP.

Just playing around with a lvl 12 fire/ice.. chose ice cause its the most defensive secondary (CE + Ice Slick) and I fancied the debt-aholic life of a blapper (hey, its not my main, im in no rush to level )
Purely by accident, I have found that rain of fire + chilling embrace is actually rather tasty... Admittedly you have to be blapping. RoF normally a pain cos of the scatter effect, but if they are running veeeerrrrrrrryyyyyy slloooooooowwwwwwwwly away from you, then things are okey dokey. In fact, I find it a pretty useful way of keeping mobs engaged in things other than attacking me.
Anyone else found this?
And any further advice on fire/ice greatfully received.

I'll be using it in a team with another blaster, either as a duo or in hopefully a large all blaster team. The duo will be with another blaster with an identical build. Why I plan on taking assault/tactics (+21% damage/+22.02% Acc). Oh and no PvP, PvE only build. + I already messed it up, took AS instead of Hover.
Specifically trying to stay out of melee, (why I haven't taken alot of the melee Ice powers. But as this is my first non Nrg/AR/Dev build I know nothing
I'll be using a funky fly/hover switcher to use hover only for firing from, and fly for movement.
