By any chance, can you post your total build? I didnt lvl that character for quite a while, so totaly unknown with the effect of ED on the powers. Planning to pick it up again and start lvling it a bit more again.

I've seen one or two on the forums and would certainly be interested in hearing your build also. I'm considering that set for my second blaster. I"m considering alot of sets to be fair, but after Ice/NRG is appears to be an approiate choice.

I originally started with flight as a travel power, but still needed Hasten, so everything else was pushed back by a couple of levels, so I respec'd into superspeed at 14 instead. I hate Superspeed as a travel power, so I also included Fly later in my build, just for my own quality of life (and the Shadow Shard TFs).
Hover is pretty useful too, as it turns my knockback into knockdown, which helps keep the baddies on my ice patch, and it keeps the tanks and scrappers happy!
Power Push is not everyone's cup of tea, but it's a lifesaver for me. I use it constantly.
Also, it was a tough choice between Shiver and Snow Storm for me...I sacrificed Shiver for Fly and went with Snow Storm in the end, but my previous build had them both and only one travel power (fly at the time). Shiver is the better out of the two I feel, but snow storm opens up the Cold Mastery pool, which has some excellent powers.
PvE-wise...the Flash Freeze is one of the best powers I have. I can sleep a whole bunch of mobs, then single-target blast them to death. With this slotting and hasten running, it's usualy back up before they wake up (depends on what level they are) so I can hit them again and carry on. Once slept, I can easily cycle through them, find the nasty ones and use Freezing Touch on them.
I don't PvP a lot, and I don't get into melee often so I didn't get Ice Sword, though I hear it's very good for de-toggling in PvP.
Ice Patch I find to be the best PvP tool for me, especially in the maps with water...stick an ice patch underwater, pretend to be a helpless little blaster for a few seconds and invariably some tough guy wannabe comes along and tries to get you. Nothing more satisfying than watching them fall over as soon as they hit melee range, jumping into a hover and blasting them to death in a few easy shots! Mwa ha haaaa! Suckers!!
I think that's the beauty of this build...no-one expects it and there's so many little things you can use to save yourself. Ice patch, snow storm, sleep, freezing touch, power push...then hibernate when it all goes wrong! Gotta love it!

I think that a Fire/Ice blaster could be pretty good, use SS and stealth to get into the middle of a mob, drop ice patch then rain of fire and fireball = AOE carnage woo followed by the fire nuke (inferno?)
It certainly does look like a good set. I want my next blaster to be all about the range, rather than the high damage of blapping. ANd there is plenty of 'offensive' control in energy/ice, Ice patch being such an awesomely powerful staple. Hmmm, seriously considering this now...
Yesterday i picked up lvling again with my nrg/ice blaster, after a respec to get rid of the 6 slotting and moved into AOE powers (that cone and targeted-aoe). Using shiffers (or how its called) all mobs getting into melee range are massivly slowed, giving you quite some time to run away again.
Made a minor mistake on the free respec, i gues at 34 i do another respec to give it a bit more finetuning. The stealth/SS icepatch tactic sounds pretty cool Though i might to force for epic set, i love that Force of Nature power.
